56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Enhances Accessibility & Inclusivity with CineDubs Integration

#IFFIWood, 26 November 2025

Strengthening its commitment to making cinema accessible to all, the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has introduced CineDubs, a multilingual audio-support app that empowers audiences to experience select festival films in the language of their choice. This innovative step reflects IFFI’s vision of embracing diversity, promoting inclusivity, and ensuring that cinema is a shared experience for everyone.

CineDubs: Cinema Without Barriers

The CineDubs app enables moviegoers to enjoy films inside theatres in their preferred language—irrespective of the language in which the film is being projected. With a simple and seamless process, users can:

  • Download their preferred language audio track on the app
  • Let the app auto-sync with the film using patented audio-synchronization technology
  • Experience an immersive, personalized, and barrier-free movie experience

By breaking linguistic boundaries, CineDubs allows audiences from different regions and language backgrounds to come together and celebrate cinema in a truly inclusive atmosphere.

Benefits of CineDubs

In theatres and exhibitions, Cinedubs may attract multilingual audiences to the same screening. It may enhance response in language-specific shows, and enables more efficient auditorium operations. Thus, cinegoers may also watch films in their preferred language, discover and enjoy regional and global cinema beyond linguistic limitations, and share film experiences with friends and family who speak different languages.

Enhanced Audio Accessibility at IFFI 56

Furthering its mission of accessibility, IFFI has introduced special screenings that include:

Audio Description (AD):

Provides narrated descriptions of visual elements, enabling visually impaired viewers to fully engage with the film’s storytelling.

Closed Captions (CC):

Offers on-screen text for dialogues, sound cues, and essential audio elements, supporting hearing-impaired audiences.

Together, AD and CC ensure a more inclusive cinema environment where every viewer—regardless of sensory ability—can experience the magic of films.

A Step Toward a More Inclusive Future

With the integration of CineDubs and enhanced accessibility features, the 56th IFFI continues to push the boundaries of inclusivity in global film festivals. This initiative reaffirms IFFI’s dedication to creating a cinematic space where language and accessibility are no longer barriers, but bridges that unite audiences.
