Updates on Covid-19 from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare;:RECOVERY RATE IMPROVES TO 51.08%; CURRENTLY MORE THAN 900 DEDICATED LABS TESTING FOR COVID-19 IN INDIA

During the last 24 hrs, 7419 COVID-19 patients were cured. A total of 1,69,797 patients, so far, have been cured of COVID-19. The recovery rate rises to 51.08%, which is indicative of the fact that more than half of positive cases have recovered from the disease.Currently, 1,53,106 active cases are under medical supervision.

ICMR‘s testing capacity for detecting the novel Coronavirus in infected persons is continuously being ramped up. The number of government labs has been increased to 653 and private labs has been increased to 248 (a total of 901). In the last 24 hours, 1,15,519 samples were tested. The total number of samples tested thus far is 57,74,133

Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah chairs meeting of all political parties in Delhi on the COVID-19 situation in the national capital

Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah has said the Government of India will take all necessary steps to check the spread of COVID-19 in Delhi. Chairing a meeting of all political parties in Delhi on the COVID-19 situation in the national capital, Shri Amit Shah said we all have to stand united under the leadership of the Prime Minister Shri NarendraModi in this fight against the pandemic.The Union Home Minister informed the all-party meeting of key decisions taken during a meeting convened by him yesterday and appealed to all political parties to ensure that decisions are implemented in earnest at the ground level. Shri Amit Shah called on the parties to mobilise their party workers to help implement the decisions taken by the Central Government for the welfare of the people of Delhi. Shri Amit Shah appealed all parties to rise above political differences in the interest of the people.

CBIC Begins Using e-Office in all CGST and Customs offices

Chairman, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) launched the e-Office application in over 500 CGST and Customs offices across India today.The launch of e-Office is one more measure taken by the CBIC in leveraging technology for providing a ‘Faceless, Contactless and Paperless’ indirect Tax administration.The use of e-Office by the rank and file of the CGST and Customs officers in their day to day work would lead to speedier decision making, transparency, accountability, and positive impact on the environment by cutting down the use of paper and printing. Of particular relevance in the present-day challenging situation arising due to COVID-19 is that e-Office would help avoid contact with physical files thereby preventing possible transmission of any virus. Also, e-Office ensures enhanced security as no file or document can be altered or destroyed or backdated. An in-built monitoring mechanism would identify where the files are held up enabling quick disposal and faster decision making.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh launches “Feedback Call Centres on COVID -19 Public Grievances and Interacts Live with Citizens”

Union Minister of State for Personnel, PG and Pensions Dr. Jitendra Singh todaylaunched the “Feedback Call Centres on Public Grievances” and interacted live with citizens whose grievances have been successfully redressed on the COVID-19 National Monitor for Public Grievances. Dr. Jitendra Singh complimented DARPG on reaching the milestone of redressing One Lakh COVID-19 Public Grievances so far.This is the first time that a Senior Minister of Government has interacted live with Citizens who had filed grievances during COVID-19 and also paved way for other Ministries to take up citizen grievances in an effective manner along with a feedback mechanism.

This facility will bring a paradigm shift by allowing EPFO offices to settle online claims from any of its regional offices, across the country. All types of online claims i.e. provident fund, pension, partial withdrawal and claims and transfer claims can be processed under this novel initiative.

Mission Sagar: INS Kesari Returns to Port Louis, Mauritius

As part of Mission Sagar, Indian Naval Ship Kesari returned to Port Louis, Mauritius, on 14 June 2020, to embark the Indian Navy Medical Team, which was disembarked during its last visit to Port Louis on 23 May 2020. The 14-member medical team comprising specialist doctors and paramedics was disembarked at Port Louis with an aim to assist in management of COVID-19 pandemic, share expertise to help contain the spread of the disease and minimize risk to life.During their deployment at Port Louis, the team interacted with healthcare warriors at all levels and held meaningful discussions towards sharing best practices on COVID-19 management.

First ever distribution of assistive aids & devices to divyangjan through virtual platform under ADIP Scheme of M/O Social Justice & Empowerment in Firozpur, Punjab

Amidst the prevailing unprecedented situation faced by the society due to Pandemic COVID-19, special measures have been taken by Government of India so that the benefit of welfare scheme for Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) continue uninterrupted. In this endeavor adopting all the preventive measures, a Virtual ADIP Camp for free distribution of assistive aids and devices at Block level for Divyangjans under the ADIP scheme of Government of India was organized at TalwandiBhai Block of Firozpur District in Punjab today. This is the first camp being organized by the ALIMCO under DEPwD, M/o Social Justice and Empowerment under the ADIP Scheme of the Government of India after opening of lockdown with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) approved by the Government of India.

SER RUNS 1739 TRIPS OF PARCEL EXPRESS TRAINS FOR UNINTERRUPTED SUPPLY OF ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES DURING NATIONWIDE LOCKDOWN

As a part of commitment to the nation to fight COVID-19, South Eastern Railway (SER) has already geared up its entire network to runTime Tabled Parcel Express Trains towards different destinations in the country. SER has already run 1739 trips of Time Tabled Parcel Express Trains carrying essential commodities viz., fooditems, groceries, medicines, medical equipment including PPE masks, sanitizers coveralls, gloves, fish, fruits, cotton goods, gunny bags, vegetables, onion, ginger, garlic and other daily need items to different parts of the country from 2nd April to 13th June, 2020. SER during the above period, has already carried 26,335 tonnes of parcel traffic containing 9,97,145 number of packages to different places in the country.

• Punjab: Punjab Chief Minister has urged Prime Minister NarendraModi to extend the benefits under the Pradhan Mantri GaribKalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) for another six months, in view of the Covid crisis, to facilitate free wheat and pulses to the beneficiaries of National Food Security Act.
• Haryana: The state government has taken initiative to start calling the cases which are in home isolation to take feedback from them on various issues like availability of regular health services to them, whether they are following all the instruction given to them during home isolation, any difficult faced by them, any support required from the health department, whether they are taking medicines, wearing masks, sanitizing as per instructions etc. For calling these cases, services of Haryana Help line 1075 call centre are being utilized.By calling these cases not only feedback is taken from them but their issues are also being resolved. Further psychological counselling is being given by the calling agents to decrease their stress and anxiety related to COVID, which is the need of the day during COVID pandemic. Haryana Govt. has also tied up with ePsyclinic (A platform of experienced and qualified Psychologists) to give counselling related to mental health through call centre 1075 for next 3 months.
• Himachal Pradesh: Chief Minister has approved review meetings to be held in each district of the State to make an assessment of the arrangements made in the districts for containing the spread of COVID-19 as well as district plans towards re-starting the economic activities including development works. These review meetings will be chaired by the Speaker, Ministers, Deputy Speaker, Deputy Chairman and Chief Whip. The agenda approved by the Chief Minister for these meetings at the District level include review of arrangements made for containment of COVID-19, review of implementation of all flagship programmes started by the central and state governments, utilization of unspent amount, status of Chief Minister's announcements, progress of schemes on which foundation stones were laid by the Chief Minister.
• Kerala: The state government has issued new guidelines for outsiders visiting Kerala. Those arriving for short trips should not stay for more than 7 days. Earlier quarantine concession was announced for officials and other professionals arriving in the state. Now it also applies to candidates coming to attend exams. They should directly go to their accommodation and should not make any other travel without permission. Kerala High Court has sought an explanation from the State Electricity Board on the plea against the unprecedented hike in the electricity tariff from consumers during the lockdown. Film shooting has resumed in the state after lockdown. Police resorted to lathi charge to disperse a group of migrant labourers gathered in Perumbavoor near Kochi following a fake news circulated that train tickets to return are being distributed. A total of 54 positive cases and 56 recoveries were reported in the state yesterday. 1,340 people are still under treatment for the infection.
• Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu Government announces total lockdown again from 19th June to 30th June in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu districts. Puducherry RTC bus driver among the eight new cases of Covid-19 in the UT, tally reaches 202. As cases mount, T.N. govt. begins identifying places to set up Covid-19 care centres for moderately ill patients. State recorded highest single day yesterday: 1,974 fresh cases & 38 deaths. 1415 cases from Chennai. Total cases: 44661, Active cases: 19676, Deaths: 435, Active cases in Chennai: 14667.
• Karnataka: CM lays foundation for Rs 220 crore airport project in Shivamogga. State decides to constitute 800 booth level taskforce to contain spread of corona and to oversee quarantine facilities. State to organise mask day throughout the state on Thursday, involving celebrities and sports persons. So far 4,40,684 tests have been conducted and 2956 are active cases. 176 new cases, 312 discharges & five deaths recorded yesterday. Total positive cases: 7000, Deaths: 86, Discharges: 3955.
• Andhra Pradesh:  King George Hospital (KGH) Visakhapatnam closed its morgue temporarily after a PG doctor with the Forensic Medical Department tested positive for Covid-19. KanipakamVinayakaSwamy temple in Chittoor cancels darshans for two days after a home guard posted at the temple tests positive. 246 new cases after testing 15,173 samples with two deaths reported during last 24 hours, 47 discharged. Total cases: 5087, Active: 2231, Recovered: 2770, Deaths: 86.
• Telangana: State govt fixes ₹2,200 for Covid19 tests in private labs, ₹4,000 for normal isolation, ₹7,500 per day for Covid treatment without ventilator & ₹9,000 per day with ventilator. Government to issue detailed guidelines on this later in the day. Total cases as of 15th June 4,974, of which 2,412 are active cases.
• Maharashtra: 3,390 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state, taking the tally of coronavirus infection to 1,07,958, out of which 53,030 are active cases. Hotspot Mumbai recorded 1,395 new cases, which takes the total number of COVID-19 patients in the city to 58,135.  The number of patients testing positive for corona in Dharavi slums appears to be getting under control, with only 13 patients testing positive while no death has been reported from the area in the last 24 hours. In Mumbai, selected suburban services resumed early this morning, on up and down routes over Western and Central Railways for essential staff of State Government only. These special suburban services will not be available for general passengers/public.
• Gujarat: The number of Covid-19 cases has gone up to 23,017 with 511 new cases reported during the last 24 hours. 29 patients have also lost their lives taking the death toll to 1,478.  On
• Rajasthan: 78 new cases have been reported today, taking the state tally of positive cases to 12,772. Out of this, 9631 patients have also been cured till date, whereas the number of active cases stands at 2847. Most of the new cases have been reported from Jaipur and Jhunjhunu districts. 
• Madhya Pradesh: The coronavirus case count reached 10,808 with 161 new patients and 4 deaths coming up in the last 24 hours. The number of cases in Indore, the worst-hit district in the state, rose to 4063.The state capital Bhopal has so far reported 2195 COVID-19 patients. The Madhya Pradesh health department has proposed to rope in volunteers as 'Covid Mitra' to help the government in containing the spread of coronavirus in the state. The 'Covid Mitra' will be equipped with an oximeter to check the oxygen levels of people. Any healthy individual up to 45 years of age, or a social/voluntary organisation in an urban area can be made Covid Mitra'.
• Chhattisgarh: 113 new positive cases have been reported on Sunday. Also, 84 patients were discharged from various hospitals in the state after recovery on Sunday. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state stand at 1662.
• Goa: 41 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Goa on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to 564 including 74 recoveries.
