Bharat Mata ki Jai. Bharat Mata ki Jai.
Governor of Haryana Shri Asim Ghosh ji, the popular and energetic Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini ji, my colleague in the Union Cabinet Ashwini Vaishnaw ji, other public representatives present, and through technology, all my dear brothers and sisters of Haryana connected from many places!
These are some photos brought here - please collect them, otherwise those sitting behind won’t be able to see. SPG personnel, kindly collect them. Thank you, brother, for bringing such beautiful drawings. Over there, a little girl has also brought something - please collect it. Here too, two gentlemen are visible. And now, everyone please sit comfortably. For your love, for your artistic devotion, I thank you all.
Friends,
From this glorious land of Jind, I greet you all with my Ram-Ram! Coming to this sacred soil fills my heart with joy. This is no ordinary land - it is the land of history, valor, faith, and pride. The blessings of Shakti Peeth Mata Jayanti always remain upon this city. For me, coming to Jind is like opening a window to old memories. I see many familiar faces here today. Many people claim that I used to come here riding on their scooters. Decades ago, I first came to Jind for organizational work. The affection and love you gave me then, I have never forgotten. The milk, curd, and ghee of Murrah buffalo, Jind’s desi bura, and the ghevar here - these are memories forever linked with Jind.
Friends,
Over the years, Jind’s ghee and ghevar have not changed, but Jind’s spirit has transformed. Today, Jind is becoming the picture of the BJP-NDA’s model of good governance. In recent years, the whole of Haryana has moved onto a new track of development. Today’s program is filling this mission of the double-engine BJP government with new energy.
Friends,
Today, the name of Jind and Haryana has been inscribed in the pages of history. From here, the nation has received its first hydrogen train.
You will recall, friends,
We still read and hear that the first train in India ran between Bombay and Thane, which is now called Mumbai. In the same way, whenever the hydrogen train is mentioned in the future, the names of Jind, Sonipat, and Haryana will surely be remembered. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you, to the entire nation, for this great step in the modernization of Indian Railways.
Friends,
Today, projects worth more than ₹14,000 crore have also been given to Haryana. These include many railway and highway projects, projects linked to our heritage, and two new medical colleges dedicated to serving Haryana. In Bhiwani, Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Medical College, and in Narnaul, Maharshi Chyavan Medical College and Rao Tularam Hospital - these will strengthen Haryana’s healthcare services. At the same time, they will open new paths for the youth here to become doctors and other medical professionals. For all these projects too, I congratulate all my brothers and sisters of Haryana.
Friends,
Today I must also appreciate the people of Jind and Haryana for another reason. The way you have taken the Swachhata Se Swagat initiative seriously, the way people here engaged in the cleanliness campaign with new energy before my arrival, is heartwarming. I saw that for the past week, your cleanliness campaign has been widely discussed on social media. Some people even said on social media - “Modi ji, please come again and again, so that our Jind remains clean.” I thank the gentleman who expressed this sentiment, but today I have come to ask something from the people of Jind. Tell me, is Modi’s coming necessary for cleanliness? If the people of Jind decide, if the people of Haryana decide, that we will not create filth anymore, will Jind ever become dirty? Will Haryana ever become dirty? The task is simple - there is no need for Modi to come. You only need to decide that cleanliness will become our nature, cleanliness will become our culture, and we will make it a part of our daily lives.
Friends,
If we look at the history of railways, we find that the 19th century railways were identified with steam engines. The 20th century was identified with trains running on diesel and electricity. And now, the 21st century is identified with trains running on hydrogen. Today, Indian Railways has taken a big step into this 21st-century technology. Today, between Jind and Sonipat, the hydrogen train has started running. For now, this journey is 90 kilometers long, but in the future, there are immense possibilities for expansion. We will continue researching how to reduce costs, how to increase efficiency, and step by step, after thorough investigation, we will keep moving forward. Hydrogen trains have only recently come into existence in the world, about 7–8 years ago. At present, only 3 or 4 countries have the capability to run hydrogen trains. And even in those countries, hydrogen trains are still in their early stages. But hearing about the capability of India’s hydrogen train will fill you with pride - every Indian will feel proud.
Friends,
The hydrogen train running between Jind and Sonipat is the most powerful hydrogen train in the world. This hydrogen train has 3,200 horsepower. Not only the most powerful, India’s hydrogen train is also the longest. In other countries, hydrogen trains run with three or four coaches. But India, in its very first attempt, has run a 10-coach hydrogen train, planting its flag in the world.
Friends,
Let me tell you another point of pride. India’s hydrogen train is not only smoke-free, it is also a shining example of Make in India. This hydrogen train has been designed by Indian engineers and built by an Indian company.
Friends,
This hydrogen train is completely different from other trains. It requires a separate system, separate infrastructure. Here in Jind, all necessary arrangements have been made for it. And in the coming time, more infrastructure related to hydrogen trains will be built here. New factories will be set up to meet the needs of the hydrogen train network. This means that this train will create many new employment opportunities for the youth of Haryana.
Friends,
In the past 12 years, the major changes in Indian Railways have given India another advantage. You can see that for the past several months, in West Asia - in the entire region of Hormuz, in Iran and the Gulf - war has been going on. The very sea route through which India imports large quantities of petrol, diesel, LPG gas, and fertilizers for our farmers has become a battlefield, surrounded by crises.
Friends,
If such a situation had arisen before 2014, the entire railway system of India would have come to a halt. Because in 2014, a large part of the country’s trains ran only on diesel. Imagine - if diesel imports had stopped, how would those trains have run? The nation would have faced a massive crisis.
But friends,
This is not the situation of 2014 - this is Modi. He thinks ahead of time and also brings solutions to the ground. Just imagine: the electrification of Indian Railways began in 1925, nearly a century ago. From 1925 to 2014, in about 90 years, only 30 percent of the railway network was electrified - less than one-third. Seventy percent still ran on diesel. At that pace, it would have taken another 200–300 years to reach full electrification. Railways might never have been electrified, and trains would have continued to run on diesel. But in the past 12 years, nearly 99 percent of India’s railway network has been electrified. In Haryana, the railway network is fully electrified. Because of this, despite wars and oil crises, India’s railways have not stopped. The engine of India’s development has not stalled - trains have kept running continuously.
Friends,
Whether rail or road, connectivity projects provide convenience and multiply the speed of development. Today Jind, which is being connected by so many highways, has seen three major projects launched from this very stage. The Haryana section of the Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway has been inaugurated. The Jind–Gohana National Highway has been dedicated to the nation. In addition, the Ambala–Kala Amb four-lane road will bring great convenience to the people of both Haryana and Himachal.
Friends,
Now Jind has become a district connected by five national highways. With such connectivity, it will be easier and cheaper for farmers and cattle-rearers to take their produce to big markets. Industries will be strengthened, tourism will take flight, and a large number of new jobs will be created.
Friends,
You know that just a few days ago, I returned from visits to Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand. India signed many agreements there, which were widely discussed. But there is one subject that was not talked about as much. This subject is directly connected to the youth of my country, especially Haryana - and that subject is sports.
Friends,
In Australia and New Zealand, I had extensive discussions with their governments about sports. In the coming time, India will work together with these two countries in many areas - the sports industry, athlete training, and more. This will greatly benefit the youth of Haryana as well.
Friends,
Today in India, sports are being made a major medium of fitness and employment. Our government has created a new National Sports Policy and the Khelo Bharat policy. From the Khelo India campaign to the TOPS scheme, athletes are receiving unprecedented facilities and financial support. Here in Haryana too, the BJP government is strongly encouraging sports and athletes.
Friends,
Today’s program may be about the hydrogen train and other development projects, but I also want to say something to the youth here. You all know that in 2030, India will host the Commonwealth Games, and in 2036, India is preparing to host the Olympic Games. Therefore, every athlete must prepare rigorously and give their full strength. I assure you that the double-engine BJP government will provide every facility. And those who want to see the 2036 Olympics - today’s children aged 5 to 12–15 - we must focus on them. Let me also tell you, in the coming time, Ahmedabad will host the World Police and Fire Games. I urge my friends in Haryana to prepare well for this too. I am confident that the sons and daughters of Haryana, as always, will raise their flag high in these games as well.
Friends,
Haryana’s double-engine government is working on the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Under the leadership of Nayab Singh ji, the Haryana government is doing excellent work for the youth, farmers, sisters, and daughters here. The path shown by the Haryana government of giving jobs without bribes or favoritism was not easy, but this BJP government has made it possible.
Friends,
The welfare of farmers here is also our priority. Jind’s mandi is one of the largest in Haryana. Thanks to the double-engine BJP government, farmers of Haryana are benefiting greatly. Through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, farmers of Haryana have received nearly ₹8,000 crore. Out of this, farmers of Jind alone have received more than ₹600 crore.
Friends,
Our country is a land of values and culture. And this region is a great center of that rich heritage. This is the soil of Jind, where the glory of Maharaja Ranjit Singh resides, and where the faith of the Pandavas lives on. Sacred sites like Pandu-Pindara and Ramrai are still centers of devotion for millions of pilgrims.
Friends,
This heritage of faith and spirituality is what today’s India preserves and now passes on with honor to the next generation. In this spirit, today the foundation stone of a Sikh Museum has been laid in Kurukshetra. This new museum in Haryana will carry forward India’s great Guru tradition to future generations.
Friends,
Haryana is now racing ahead on the path of rapid development. Agriculture and industry - these are the two wheels that are empowering Haryana. The projects inaugurated and launched today will further accelerate Haryana’s growth. And this rapid development of Haryana will energize India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation. With these wishes, I once again congratulate all of you, and the people of the nation, for India’s first hydrogen train. Say with me -
Bharat Mata ki Jai! Bharat Mata ki Jai! Bharat Mata ki Jai!
Thank you very much!
