എലിസബത്ത് രാജ്ഞിയുടെ വിയോഗത്തിൽ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി അനുശോചനം രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി.
പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ട്വീറ്റ് ചെയ്തു :
നമ്മുടെ കാലഘട്ടത്തിലെ ഒരു കരുത്തയായി എലിസബത്ത് രാജ്ഞി II ഓർമ്മിക്കപ്പെടും. തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിനും ജനങ്ങൾക്കും അവർ പ്രചോദനാത്മകമായ നേതൃത്വം നൽകി. പൊതുജീവിതത്തിൽ അവർ അന്തസിന്റെയും മാന്യതയുടെയും പ്രതിരൂപമായിരുന്നു . അവരുടെ വിയോഗത്തിൽ വേദനിക്കുന്നു . ദുഖത്തിന്റെ ഈ വേളയിൽ എന്റെ ചിന്തകൾ അവരുടെ കുടുംബത്തിനും ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ജനതയ്ക്കുമൊപ്പമാണ്‌.
“2015-ലും 2018-ലും യുകെ സന്ദർശന വേളയിൽ എലിസബത്ത് രാജ്ഞിയുമായി ഞാൻ അവിസ്മരണീയമായ കൂടിക്കാഴ്ചകൾ നടത്തി. അവരുടെ ഊഷ്മളതയും ദയാലുത്വവും ഞാൻ ഒരിക്കലും മറക്കില്ല. ഒരു കൂടിക്കാഴ്ചയിൽ മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധി അവരുടെ വിവാഹത്തിന് സമ്മാനിച്ച തൂവാല അവർ എന്നെ കാണിച്ചു. ആ ഭാവപ്രകടനം ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും വിലമതിക്കുന്നു. ”

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered as a stalwart of our times. She provided inspiring leadership to her nation and people. She personified dignity and decency in public life. Pained by her demise. My thoughts are with her family and people of UK in this sad hour.

I had memorable meetings with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during my UK visits in 2015 and 2018. I will never forget her warmth and kindness.
