The Vice President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has greeted the nation on the eve of Eid-ul-Zuha. Following is the full text of his message -

“I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the occasion of ‘Eid-ul-Zuha’.

Eid-ul-Zuha, the festival of sacrifice, exemplifies ultimate devotion to God.          

In our country, festivals are occasions for families and communities to come together and celebrate. But due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we will have to remain content with modest celebrations this year. I appeal to everyone to celebrate Eid by taking utmost precautions and adhering to Covid safety norms.

May this Eid-ul-Zuha bring peace, harmony and happiness in our lives.”

Following is the Hindi version of the message -

“मैं 'ईद-उल-जु़हा' के पावन अवसर पर अपने देशवासियों को हार्दिक बधाई और शुभकामनाएँ देता हूँ।

कुर्बानी का त्योहार 'ईद-उल- जु़हा' भगवान के प्रति परम श्रद्धा का प्रतीक है।

हमारे देश में त्योहार परिवारों और समुदायों के एक साथ मिलकर खुशियाँ मनाने के अवसर होते हैं। परंतु वर्तमान कोविड-19 विश्वव्यापी महामारी के कारण हमें इस वर्ष इस त्योहार को सादगी के साथ मनाकर ही संतोष करना होगा। मेरी सब से अपील है कि आप पूरी एहतियात बरतते हुए और कोविड सुरक्षा संबंधी मानकों का पालन करते हुए ईद का पर्व मनाएँ।

मैं कामना करता हूँ कि ईद-उल-जु़हा का यह पर्व हमारे जीवन में शांति, सद्भाव और खुशियाँ लाए।”
