In the last press conference of the 55^th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), members of the Jury for the Best Web Series OTT Award 2024 interacted with the media at the Press Conference Hall at PIB Media Centre.

In his opening remarks, Shri Madhur Bhandarkar, Chairperson of the Jury deliberated, “Art has no limits. It has no boundaries. And you just connect. It can be in any language. And I think that is the best thing that has happened today throughout the world. You don't require the knowledge of a specific language to understand the emotion because there are subtitles too. Emotions are thus very well connected.”

Shedding lights on the difficulties faced in selecting a single winner from the list of top ten nominees, Shri. Krishna Hebbale, Jury member, joked that there were no physical scars, but they all put up a strong fight in favour of their respective selections. Each of the jurors went with his and her notes for the deliberations and argued for the same with great energy and conviction.

Youngest in the Jury Shri Harish Shankar fondly shared, “I'm one of those guys who stood in the line and bought the ticket for Madhur Bhandarkar’s Films when I was in college. I'm honoured and humbled to be sharing space alongside him in this jury.” Also elaborating on the tough task they faced in selecting only one winner, he marked that it was not actually arguments, but more an effort to reach consensus through deliberations.

The Best Web Series (OTT) Award 2024 Jury comprises of the following members:

1. Shri. Madhur Bhandarkar (Chairperson), Film Director and Scriptwriter

2. Shri. Krishna Hebbale, Actor

3. Smt. Rupali Ganguli, Actor

4. Shri. Harish Shankar, Film Director and Scriptwriter

Recognizing the significant changes in the entertainment industry, particularly with the rise of Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms, the Best Web Series (OTT) Award was introduced in the 54th edition of IFFI (2023). This award aims to acknowledge, encourage, and honour the flourishing content and its creators on OTT platforms. This year ten entries are vying for the award. The winner is expected to be announced at the Closing Feremony of IFFI later this evening.
