At present, the demand of Packaged Drinking Water (PDW) ‘Rail Neer’ in all the important trains and at stations is being met from the existing operational Rail Neer plants across the country. Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has been vested with the task of setting up Rail Neer plants at identified locations depending upon requirement and demand of Rail Neer over Indian Railways.
The tentative cost of setting-up of a Rail Neer Plant (PPP Model) is about ₹10 crore for plant capacity of 1,00,000 bottles per day. The costs include construction of Pre-engineered Building (PEB) Shed, installation of Plant & Machinery and excluding the cost of land.
