Prime Minister highlights success of Ayushman Bharat on its eighth anniversary

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today highlighted the achievements of Ayushman Bharat as the initiative marks eight years since its rollout.
The Prime Minister stated that the scheme was introduced eight years ago with the idea that every Indian should have access to top-quality and affordable healthcare. He noted that today, more than 60 crore beneficiaries have access to Rs. 5 lakh annual health cover, making it the largest healthcare scheme in the world. Shri Modi added that the initiative has enabled record savings on medical expenses, thereby benefiting the poor and middle class.
The Prime Minister further emphasized that healthcare is moving closer to every doorstep, observing that Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have already recorded over 500 crore visits, which is strengthening primary healthcare at the grassroots. He also extended his best wishes to all Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister shared:
