As part of its ongoing commitment to support eligible candidates, this interactive forum offered valuable insights and real-time answers to applicants’ most pressing questions. Held weekly, these Open House sessions serve as a vital touchpoint for aspirants navigating the application process.

The latest session witnessed overwhelming participation from over 684 live attendees. To ensure a structured and efficient discussion, candidates were encouraged to submit their questions in advance via a dedicated online link, which was shared via email. More than 1,765 questions submitted through an online link were addressed live by members of the PMIS team. The queries mainly revolved around selection criteria, eligibility requirements, and sector-specific opportunities within the scheme. Questions raised through the chat box were also answered promptly during the session.

This Open House was particularly impactful, featuring industry expert Mr. Don Lewis, Head of Skill Development & Education at Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Division. Breaking Barriers of Language and Location: Ankit shares his journey of Growth as PMIS Intern in the MCA Open House

In the Third Candidate Open House for the PM Internship Scheme hosted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), three PMIS interns - Shweta Joshi, Ankit Kumar, and Vidyasagar Patil shared personal stories from their internship journeys. Their stories highlighted the power of opportunity, proving that language, location, and background are no barriers to pursuing one's dreams.

Ankit Kumar, a painter intern at Mahindra & Mahindra Limited in Nashik, Maharashtra, originally from Haryana, shared how his Guruji at ITI encouraged him to take the internship, despite it being far from his hometown. He openly discussed the challenges he faced initially, particularly as he only spoke Haryanvi, but appreciated the support he received from his mentors and supervisors, who made him feel welcome. Ankit also highlighted the valuable experiences he gained during the internship, from hands-on learning on the shop floor and in-depth familiarisation with cars he had previously only heard about.

Another intern, Shweta Joshi, who relocated from Madhya Pradesh is currently interning with Tech Mahindra as an Associate Software intern. She shared the new tools and technologies she is learning, including SQL, AWS CloudWatch, and analytics. When asked about her plans after completing the 12-month internship, she shared that after gaining invaluable experience through the internship, she hopes to secure a full-time position in any leading company. She also believes that the experience of working with a leading multinational company will significantly strengthen her employability prospects.

Technical, policy, and process-related queries were addressed by the Ministry’s technical partner, BISAG, as well as the MCA’s project management team. Senior MCA officials participating in the Open House, who served as a key panelist, provided valuable guidance to candidates on navigating the PMIS portal and making strategic choices for internships.  Candidates were encouraged to utilize the portal’s advanced features to select opportunities that align with their educational background, while also exploring new areas and diverse locations. It was emphasized that candidates should balance their professional goals with the opportunity to gain unique experiences, explore different cultures, and broaden their career prospects, ultimately making the most of the unparalleled learning opportunities offered by the internship program.

The Open House sessions, organized by MCA every week provides a window to the interested candidates to get their queries resolved in real time, engage with industry experts and PMIS interns and learn about the features of the portal.
