While the team behind ‘P for Paparazzi’ addressed the media, Manoj, who plays the central character of a seasoned paparazzo, found himself caught in the whirlwind of the event. In that moment, he was chasing down none other than the legendary music director A. R. Rahman, who had arrived at the 55^th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) for a Masterclass. This scene encapsulated the film’s central theme: the paradox of chasing the limelight while being consumed by it.

The directors of the films ‘P for Paparazzi’ and ‘Bahi – Tracing My Ancestors’ addressed the Press conference at the 55^th IFFI today in Goa.

Addressing a Press Conference, Divya Hemant Kharnare, Director of the film ‘P for Paparazzi’ said, he was interested in the lives of Paparazzi and chaos and frenzy revolving around their life. “I was interested to peek into the lives of people, who peek into the lives of others and what happens to them when the camera turns to them”, said the Director. He shared how, as a child, he was drawn to the glamour section of the newspapers, and as he grew older, he became increasingly interested in the methods used by paparazzi to capture these moments. He also expressed his desire to present a more balanced view of their lives, as the media often portrays them in one-dimensional ways.

During her interaction with the media, Rachita Gorowala, the director of ‘Bahi – Tracing My Ancestors’, shared that the film explores the tradition of record-keeping by a unique group of priests known as Teerth Purohits in Haridwar. These sacred records, referred to as Bahis, have safeguarded the ancestral histories of families for centuries. Rachita elaborated that while the film delves deeply into the rituals and practices of this tradition, its core focus lies in the profound philosophy of eternity. The Bahis are intertwined with the flowing Ganges, symbolizing the timeless continuum of life. In response to a question, the Director revealed that the story was born out of extensive research and a deep exploration of Haridwar's rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
