COVID-19 Update

India’s Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 90.79 Cr

Recovery Rate currently at 97.89%; Highest since March 2020

20,799 New Cases reported in the last 24 hours

India's Active Caseload (2,64,458) is 0.78% of Total Cases

Weekly Positivity Rate (1.63%) less than 3% for last 101 days

 

With the administration of 23,46,176 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 90.79 Cr (90,79,32,861) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 88,05,668 sessions.

The break-up of the cumulative figure as per the provisional report till 7 am today include:

The recovery of 26,718 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,31,21,247.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.89%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020.

Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that is being reported for 99 consecutive days now.

20,799 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Active Caseload is presently 2,64,458, which is the lowest in 200 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.78% of the country's total Positive Cases.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of

9,91,676 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 57.42 Cr (57,42,52,400) cumulative tests.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.63% remains less than 3% for the last 101 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 2.10%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for last 35 days and below 5% for 118 consecutive days now.

Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Availability in States/UTs

More than 89.89Crore vaccine doses provided to States/UTs

More than 5.67 Crore balance and unutilized vaccine doses still available with States/UTs

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccinemanufacturers in the country to States and UTs.

Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare launches i-Drone, ICMR’s drone-based vaccine delivery model

First time in South Asia, a "Make in India' drone used to transport COVID-19 vaccines

“Drones can be used in delivering important life-saving medicines, collecting blood samples in critical situations and in tough geographical areas”: Shri Mansukh Mandaviya

 

In a landmark event that epitomises the Government’s commitment to ‘Antyodaya’ in health; making healthcare accessible to the last citizen of the country, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare launched ICMR’s Drone Response and Outreach in North East (i-Drone). This is a delivery model to make sure that life-saving vaccines reach everyone.

Thanking the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Health Minister said, “Under his leadership, the Nation is progressing at a great pace. Today is a historic day, which showed us how technology is making life easier and bringing social change.”

Congratulating the people of the country on this innovative step, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya said, “This is for the first time that a "Make in India' drone has been used in South Asia to transport COVID vaccine over an aerial distance of 15 kms in 12-15 mins from the Bishnupurdistrict hospital to Loktak lake, Karang island in Manipur for administration at the PHC. The actual road distance between these locations is 26 k.m. Today, 10 beneficiaries will receive the first dose and 8 will receive the second dose at the PHC.”
