Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed a gathering through a video conference during the inauguration of BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir in Paris . Highlighting the monumental inauguration taking place in the French capital, the Prime Minister recognized the historic event as a foundational pillar for bilateral ties. “This grand Swaminarayan Temple is a new milestone in the cultural relations between India and France,” noted Shri Modi.

Invoking the blessings of revered saints and Sanatan tradition luminaries, the Prime Minister described the event's atmosphere as a true reflection of universal brotherhood. He emphasized that this gathering embodies ancient philosophies on a global stage. “Today, this stage has become an awakened platform for the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” observed Shri Modi.

Expressing deep gratitude for the divine grace and the affection of spiritual leaders, the Prime Minister reflected on his continued, fortunate association with such sacred milestones. “I continue to get the opportunity to associate with such pious occasions,” remarked Shri Modi.

Addressing the audience remotely, the Prime Minister conveyed his profound emotional connection to the ongoing festivities despite not being there in person. “In mind and spirit, I am experiencing myself right among you,” affirmed Shri Modi.

Paying respectful homage to Param Pujya Pramukh Swami Ji Maharaj, the Prime Minister recalled the visionary campaign launched to revive India's ancient cultural and spiritual glory. He noted how this global mission has gained immense momentum over the years. “Today, the light of that renaissance is spreading across the entire world, including Europe,” observed Shri Modi.

Tracing the journey from the grand Abu Dhabi temple inaugurated earlier in 2024 to the current marvel, the Prime Minister commended the relentless dedication and visionary efforts of the spiritual leaders. “This continuity of creation is a testament to the sheer resolve of the saints,” asserted Shri Modi.

Offering his deep reverence to Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt congratulations to the BAPS organization and its millions of followers. “I express my gratitude for this pious work,” affirmed Shri Modi.

Explaining how the global consecration of temples also exports India's ancient philosophy, the Prime Minister cited the guiding principle that calls for profound human unity. He emphasized that these core values naturally travel alongside the spiritual ceremonies. “India's thought advocates that our minds should be one and our hearts must connect,” noted Shri Modi.

Pointing out the broader societal impact, the Prime Minister emphasized that the magnificent structure would simultaneously enhance local cultural landscapes and supercharge bilateral ties. “This temple will surely enrich the diversity of France and energize our cultural relations,” asserted Shri Modi.

Reflecting on the soaring trajectory of diplomatic ties in recent years, the Prime Minister highlighted the collaborative, visionary efforts undertaken alongside President Emmanuel Macron. “Both countries are building a Special Global Strategic Partnership together,” noted Shri Modi.

Outlining the expansive scope of bilateral cooperation spanning AI, defense, space, and climate action, the Prime Minister pointed to the upcoming 2026 India-France Year of Innovation. He stated that these combined efforts are unlocking unprecedented technological advancements. “We are moving forward together with a new momentum and new energy,” affirmed Shri Modi.

Underscoring the uniqueness of this modern alliance, the Prime Minister attributed its contemporary strength to the enduring historical ties shared by both nations. “This Strategic Partnership is special because it rests on the strong foundation of our old cultural and political bonds,” observed Shri Modi.

Recalling the valor of Indian soldiers on French soil, the Prime Minister also praised the pivotal role played by French scholars in elevating a classical Indian language on the global stage. “They have played an incredibly important role in popularizing Sanskrit,” noted Shri Modi.

Delving into literary and spiritual exchanges, the Prime Minister cited Romain Rolland’s writings on Indian mystics and The Mother’s transformative journey to Puducherry as powerful catalysts for mutual inspiration. He acknowledged how these intellectual pursuits have deeply inspired seekers from both countries. “These spiritual connections have brought our societies much closer over the years,” remarked Shri Modi.

Looking back at the historical milestones of faith, the Prime Minister highlighted the arrival of a prominent spiritual leader in France decades ago. “Through ISKCON, Srila Prabhupada Swami started a new chapter of spiritual relations,” observed Shri Modi.

Drawing parallels between the widespread embrace of Yoga near the Eiffel Tower and the new temple, the Prime Minister identified these as powerful mediums for people-to-people connectivity. “A new chapter is being added to our cultural relations through this grand, divine temple,” asserted Shri Modi.

Weaving economic terminology into the spiritual narrative, the Prime Minister playfully compared the temple's creation to modern bilateral enterprise discussions. “The Swaminarayan Temple has added a completely new dimension to the possibilities of joint ventures,” remarked Shri Modi.

Detailing the architectural synthesis, the Prime Minister explained how ancient Indian carving talent seamlessly integrated with modern French engineering to shape the magnificent structure. He highlighted the careful craftsmanship applied to the stones sent from India. “This temple is truly 'Made in India' and 'Built in France',” noted Shri Modi.

Casting a visionary gaze toward the future, the Prime Minister expressed supreme confidence in the enduring legacy of this collaborative architectural marvel. “It will remain a symbol of cooperation and possibilities between India and France for centuries to come,” affirmed Shri Modi.

Reinforcing the dual mission of spiritual practice and social welfare inherent in these institutions, the Prime Minister expressed optimism about the site's upcoming humanitarian projects. “Swaminarayan temples have always been a medium of service along with devotion,” observed Shri Modi.

Projecting the regional impact of the center, the Prime Minister anticipated that the resonant values of Indian heritage would uplift the broader continent. He expressed certainty that these teachings would resonate far beyond Paris. “The voices of Indian culture emerging from here will benefit people across the whole of Europe,” asserted Shri Modi. “In the future, whenever I get the time, I will try to visit this temple for darshan,” affirmed Shri Modi.

Concluding his address with immense goodwill, the Prime Minister extended his best wishes toward the attendees, families, devotees, and the entire diaspora celebrating the inauguration.
