Governor of Arunachal Pradesh interacts with Uttar Pradesh student delegation under Yuva Sangam Phase VI

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, interacted with the Uttar Pradesh student delegation at Raj Bhavan on 27 May 2026 as part of Yuva Sangam Phase VI.

During the interaction, the Governor shared insights into the history, traditions, culture, and developmental progress of Arunachal Pradesh, while emphasising the important role of youth in promoting national integration and cultural understanding. The interaction provided the students with a deeper appreciation of the State’s unique identity and its contribution to India’s development journey.
Earlier, a student delegation of 38 participants from Uttar Pradesh, led by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, arrived in Arunachal Pradesh on 26 May 2026 and was warmly welcomed by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), the host institution for the programme in the State.
On arrival at Naharlagun Railway Station, the student delegation received a traditional welcome from the Yuva Sangam team of NERIST. They subsequently attended an induction programme at the NERIST campus, where they were introduced to the objectives of Yuva Sangam and the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
During their visit, the students participated in an interactive session on conducted by the Central Institute of Indian Languages, which highlighted India’s linguistic diversity. They also explored several cultural, educational, spiritual and innovation-oriented destinations across Arunachal Pradesh, including the Gompa Buddhist Temple and Donyi Polo Gangging, where they gained insights into the State’s spiritual and cultural traditions. The participants further attended a Cultural Night at the NERIST Silver Jubilee Hall, which provided an opportunity for cultural exchange and interaction among participants.

The student delegation was introduced to Arunachal Pradesh’s educational and innovation ecosystem through visits to NERIST’s 3D Printing Laboratory and interactive sessions on the State’s biodiversity. An informative presentation on its rich flora and fauna highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable development. The students also watched Arunachal Pradesh’s first feature film, gaining deeper insights into the State’s culture and traditions. Additionally, a Traditional Attire Show showcased the diverse tribal heritage of Arunachal Pradesh and fostered greater cultural appreciation and understanding among the delegation.
As part of the Tourism and Development components of Yuva Sangam, the student delegation visited the hydropower facilities of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), gaining exposure to the region’s renewable energy infrastructure. The participants also undertook an educational visit to Ziro Valley, where they explored key sites including Shivlinga, Seeh Lake, Pamu Yalang Viewpoint, Sikhe Lake, Kasa Botanical Park, and local villages. The visit provided insights into the State’s natural heritage, sustainable livelihoods, and eco-tourism initiatives.

At NERIST, the participants took part in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, reflecting the programme’s emphasis on environmental awareness and community engagement. The programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony held at the Silver Jubilee Hall, NERIST, on 30 May 2026, where students shared their experiences and reflected on their learning journey.
The student delegation departed for Uttar Pradesh on 30 May 2026 after completing a week-long educational and cultural exchange programme. The visit provided participants with a deeper understanding of Arunachal Pradesh’s culture, traditions, educational institutions, innovation ecosystem, and developmental initiatives, while furthering the objectives of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
