Vice President virtually inaugurates international conference on ‘Ekatma Manav Darshan – Bharat’s Worldview’
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s ‘Ekatma Manav Darshan’ continues to hold relevance today
Technology must serve human welfare and be guided by wisdom, in line with the ideal of Loka-Sangraha

The Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, today virtually inaugurated the International Academic Conference on ‘Ekatma Manav Darshan – Bharat’s Worldview’ at Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru.
Appreciating Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru, along with Prajna Pravah and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation for organizing the conference, he noted that it marks sixty years of Ekatma Manav Darshan (Integral Humanism), a profound philosophical and civilizational framework articulated by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, which remains highly relevant in contemporary times.
Highlighting its core principles, the Vice President said that Integral Humanism emphasizes the interconnectedness of the individual, society, nature, and the universe. In a world facing growing divisions, stress, and erosion of trust, he underscored that the philosophy offers a path of harmony through Dharma, guided by duties (Kartavya) and values such as truth, compassion, and service.
He stressed that true development must be holistic, nurturing the body, mind, intellect, and soul, while maintaining balance with nature.
The Vice President highlighted the emphasis on Kartavya and Seva in public life and referred to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. He said that the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047 envisions inclusive and sustainable development rooted in ethical values and cultural heritage, aligned with the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
In the context of rapid technological advancements, he remarked that while humanity possesses immense technological capabilities, ethical guidance remains essential. He emphasized that technology must serve human welfare and be guided by wisdom, in line with the ideal of Loka-Sangraha.
Calling for the practical application of Integral Humanism, the Vice President urged stakeholders to carry forward its principles in policy and action to build a balanced and harmonious world. He also extended his best wishes for the success of the conference.
The conference is being organized from March 25–27 by Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru along with Prajna Pravah and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookherjee Research Foundation.
