Mines Ministry Organizes Nation-wide Activities to Spread the message of Swachhata Hi Sewa

 Shri VL Kantha Rao, Secretary, Ministry of Mines along with senior officers of the Ministry, CPSEs and field formations observed “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath” under Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign today.

The Ministry of Mines along with its attached and subordinate offices executed 40 SHS mega activities across the country including historically unique sites such as Balasinor Fossil Park, Gujarat, Udayagiri and Khandgiri Hills near Bhubhneshwar, Nagarjuna Caves near Patna. The  Rahioli Dinosaur Fossil Park, Balasinor, Gujarat is third largest dinosaur fossil site in the world and well preserved Geo-heritage park for late cretaceous dinosaur fossil spread over 18.2 hectares.

The Khandgiri Hills near Bhubhneshwar is a popular tourist destination and important Geo-heritage site  in Odisha having large footfalls on daily basis.

The barabar and Nagarjuna Hills, Jehanabad, near patna hosts man made caves with medieval architecture carved out in granites. They are amongst the listed geo-toursim sites.

Besides these mega activities,  all Units/Offices under the Ministry and all their officials voluntarily participated in cleanliness activities close to their offices/residences.

Shri VL Kantha Rao, Secretary of Mines, joined shramdaan in Geological Survey of India’s (GSI) Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath cleanliness drive at NIT 4 Government Colony,  Faridabad. Senior officers/officials from the Ministry  participated at different places in Delhi and other sites throughout the country.

On 2nd October all the Units of the Ministry and its attached, subordinate offices will pay shradhanjali to the Father of the Nation with Swachhata Pledge and it will culminate the Swachhata Hi Seva Programme and merge with Special Campaign 3.0, 2023.
