The Vice President, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu has greeted the people of the nation on the eve of ‘Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Chaitra Sukladi and Cheti Chand’.

Following is the full text of the message –

I convey my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of our country on the joyous and auspicious occasion of ‘Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Chaitra Sukladi and Cheti Chand’.

These festivals mark the beginning of the traditional New Year and bring new hope and happiness in our lives.

Celebrated across the states in a variety of traditional ways in our country, the festivals reflect our rich cultural diversity and the underlying unity.

May these festivals bring prosperity and happiness in our country and strengthen the bonds of fraternity among the people of our nation.

Following is the Hindi text of the message -

मैं 'उगादी, गुड़ी पड़वा, चैत्र शुक्लादि तथा चेटी चंड' के आनंदमय तथा शुभ अवसर पर अपने देश के सभी नागरिकों को हार्दिक बधाई एवं शुभकामनाएं देता हूं।

ये त्योहार पारम्परिक नव वर्ष के शुभारंभ के प्रतीक हैं और हमारे जीवन में एक नयी आशा और उल्लास लेकर आते हैं।

हमारे देश के विभिन्न राज्यों में विविध पारम्परिक रीतियों से मनाए जाने वाले ये त्योहार हमारी समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक विविधता तथा उसमें अंतर्निहित एकता को दर्शाते हैं।

मेरी कामना है कि ये त्योहार हमारे देश में समृद्धि और खुशहाली लाएं तथा राष्ट्र के लोगों के बीच बंधुत्व के संबंधों को और मजबूती प्रदान करे।
