COVID-19 Update

India’s Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 92.63 Cr

More than 43.09 Lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours

Recovery Rate currently at 97.95%; Highest since March 2020

22,431 New Cases reported in the last 24 hours

India's Active Caseload (2,44,198) is 0.72% of Total Cases

Weekly Positivity Rate (1.68%) less than 3% for last 104 days

With the administration of 43,09,525vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 92.63Cr (92,63,68,608) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 90,14,182sessions.

The recovery of24,602patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,32,00,258.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.95%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020.

Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that is being reported for 102 consecutive days now.

22,431 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Active Caseload is presently 2,44,198, which is the lowest in 204 days.Active cases presently constitute 0.72% of the country's total Positive Cases.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of

14,31,819tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 57.86 Cr (57,86,57,484) cumulative tests.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.68% remains less than 3% for the last 104 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be1.57%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below3% for last 38 days and below 5% for 121 consecutive days now.

Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Availability in States/UTs

More than 93.94 Crore vaccine doses provided to States/UTs

More than 7.64 Crore balance and unutilized vaccine doses still available with States/UTs

 

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccinemanufacturers in the country to States and UTs.

PM dedicates to the nation PSA Oxygen Plants established under PM CARES

PM dedicates 35 PSA Oxygen Plants across 35 States and UTs

PSA Oxygen Plants now commissioned in all districts of the country

Expresses gratitude to the people of the country and Uttarakhand as he enters the 21st year of unbroken journey as head of the government

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, dedicated 35 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Plants established under PM CARES, across 35 States and Union Territories, in an event held at AIIMS Rishikesh, Uttarakhand today. With this, all districts of the country will now have commissioned PSA Oxygen Plants. Union Ministers, Governor, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, State Ministers and healthcare professionals were present on the occasion.

Shri Modi expressed happiness that from the land where life-giving forces like Yoga and Ayurveda gained strength, today, oxygen plants are being dedicated.  The Prime Minister said the facilities India prepared in such a short timespan to fight the Corona pandemic, shows the capability of our country. Network of about 3000 testing labs were created from just 1 testing lab, before the pandemic. India has transformed from being an importer to an exporter of masks and kits. Facilities of new ventilators were made available even in remote areas of the country. India has made rapid and large-scale manufacturing of Made in India Corona Vaccine. India has implemented the world's largest and fastest vaccination campaign. The Prime Minister said what India has done is a symbol of our determination, our service and our solidarity.

The Prime Minister said in normal days, India used to produce 900 metric tons of liquid medical oxygen a day. As the demand increased, India increased the production of medical oxygen by more than 10 times. He added that this was an unimaginable goal for any country in the world, but India has achieved it.

The Prime Minister remarked that it is a matter of pride for every Indian that 93 crore doses of corona vaccine have been administered. Very soon India will cross the 100 crore mark. He said India has shown the way to the whole world by building the Cowin platform that shows how vaccination is done on such a large scale.

Government Issues Guidelines For PM Cares For Children Scheme

Scheme To Give Comprehensive Support For Children Who Have Lost Their Parents Due To COVID-19 Pandemic

PM CARES For Children Scheme To Provide Monthly Stipend From Age Of 18 Years & Rs. 10 Lakh On Attaining 23 Years Of Age

 

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has issued the detailed guidelines for PM CARES for Children Scheme. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 29th May, 2021 had announced comprehensive support for children who have lost both their parents due to COVID 19 pandemic. The objective of the scheme is to ensure comprehensive care and protection of children who have lost their parent(s) to COVID pandemic, in a sustained manner, enable their wellbeing through health insurance, empower them through education and equip them for self-sufficient existence with financial support on reaching 23 years of age.
