India-Bhutan Electoral Cooperation in focus as CEC Shri Gyanesh Kumar visits Bhutan

- Chief Election Commissioner of India, Shri Gyanesh Kumar, is undertaking a three-day visit to the Kingdom of Bhutan from 14 to 16 September 2026.
- During the visit, Shri Gyanesh Kumar will meet His Majesty the King of Bhutan, in Thimphu today on 14 September 2026.
- A key engagement of the visit will be the celebration of Bhutan’s National Voters’ Day at the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law, Paro, on 15 September 2026, where the CEC would be the Chief Guest.
- On 16 September 2026, Shri Gyanesh Kumar will call on Dasho Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan, in Thimphu. He will also hold an interaction with senior civil servants of Bhutan.
- The visit will further strengthen the close institutional cooperation between Election Commission of India and Election Commission of Bhutan, building on their continued engagement.
