CTTC Bhubaneswar Lights up Young Minds:Trains Over 8,000 Engineering Students Through Summer Internship Programme 2026


Empowering Future Engineers through Industry-graded Internship Training

In a shining testament to India's growing emphasis on industry-grade training, the Central Tool Room & Training Centre (CTTC), Bhubaneswar, under Ministry of MSME, has successfully conducted four-week Summer Internship Training Programme during May & June 2026, providing industry-oriented, hands-on training to 8,083 engineering students from 22 States and Union Territories across the country, including 26 international students from Sudan and Yemen.

The Training Programme provided an opportunity for engineering students from first year to final year and witnessed participation from across the country, including international students. The programme stands as a proud reaffirmation of CTTC Bhubaneswar's role as a premier institution for offering structured and industry-oriented training designed to sharpen the employability and technical competence of India's youth.

A Spectrum of Opportunity

  • Spanning disciplines as varied as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, and Computer Science, the programme also focused on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI - ML), Cloud Computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Additive Manufacturing. Each four-week course was designed to provide intensive hands-on training, bridging the gap between classroom learning and industrial practice.
  • Of the 8,083 students trained, the Mechanical discipline led the way with 3,193 candidates, followed by Electronics with 2,209; IT & Software with 1,948; Civil with 388, and other emerging domains accounting for 345- a spread that reflects both the enduring strength of core engineering and the rising pull of new-age technologies. The programme offered training across 39 engineering and emerging technology domains, with the highest participation in Artificial Intelligence (1,748 students), PLC Programming (1,000), AutoCAD (991), Python Programming (413) and Data Analytics (392).
  • The internship also attracted students from premier institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), various Deemed-to-be Universities, engineering colleges, and polytechnic institutes.

About CTTC, Bhubaneswar-

  • Central Tool Room & Training Centre, Bhubaneswar has been set up to fulfill the tooling and training needs of the Micro, Small & Medium enterprises in the field of Tool Design and Manufacture and training of technical personnel in these fields.
  • The Centre Offers various services in the area of Auto parts, high precision parts, General Engineering sector by designing, development and manufacturing of quality press tools, moulds & dies, gauges, jigs & fixtures, etc. It also provides training/programmes in Tool & Die technology, Product Design, Mechatronics, Advance Machine Maintenance, CAD/CAM/CAE, CNC machining and programming, etc.
  • It has manufactured & supplied 437 types of 54,000 precision components to India Space Research Organization (ISRO) for Chandrayaan-3 Mission launched on 14th July, 2023.
  • It has also manufactured & supplied different types of precision components like regulator, flow control valves, gyroscope, temperature sensor & navigation parts to ISRO for Aditya – L1 Mission (Indian Solar Mission) launched on 02nd September, 2023.
  • The Centre has also made significant contributions to the aerospace and defence sectors by manufacturing high-precision components for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including components for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme, thereby supporting indigenous manufacturing capabilities.
