Week-long Celebrations to Highlight India Post’s Enduring Role in Connecting Citizens and Building a Modern, Inclusive and Citizen-Centric Postal Network

The Department of Posts (DoP) is celebrating National Postal Week, from 9th to 15th October, commencing with the World Post Day on 9th October.
The theme of this year’s World Post Day is ‘World Post Day: One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities.’
The National Postal Week 2026 will focus on the Department’s continued efforts to make postal services more convenient, accessible and responsive to the evolving needs of citizens.
Through initiatives such as N-Gen Post Offices and Jan Sewa Connect Post Offices, the Department is creating modern and inclusive service spaces that are designed to respond to the changing expectations of citizens. At the same time, digital platforms such as the Dak Sewa App and Dak Mitra App are making postal services easier to access and use. These initiatives are contributing towards a more connected, responsive and technology-enabled India Post, equipped to meet the needs of the future.
The week-long celebrations will feature specially themed days, with each day highlighting an important dimension of the Department’s contribution towards building a modern, inclusive and citizen-centric postal ecosystem. The celebrations will showcase the role of India Post in strengthening financial inclusion, promoting digital empowerment, facilitating efficient mail and parcel services, encouraging philately and advancing technology and innovation across the postal network.

The celebrations will commence with World Post Day on 9th October 2026 (Friday). The day will highlight the universal significance of postal services and the enduring role of the postal network in connecting people, communities and businesses. It will also provide an opportunity to recognise the contribution of postal services towards strengthening communication and access to essential services.
Fun with Philately Day will be observed on 12th October 2026 (Monday), highlighting the rich cultural, educational and historical dimensions of philately. The day will encourage greater appreciation of stamps and postal heritage while promoting philately as an engaging means of learning and preserving the nation’s diverse heritage.
Financial Inclusion & CCS Day will be observed on 13th October 2026 (Tuesday). The day will highlight the contribution of the Department of Posts towards strengthening financial inclusion and extending access to financial services through its extensive postal network, particularly by reaching citizens across diverse geographical and socio-economic backgrounds.
Mails & Parcels Day will be observed on 14th October 2026 (Wednesday), focusing on the Department’s continued efforts to provide reliable, efficient and accessible mail and parcel services. The day will highlight the importance of India Post in connecting individuals, businesses and institutions across the country and facilitating the movement of communications and goods.
The celebrations will conclude with Technology & Innovation Day on 15th October 2026 (Thursday). The day will showcase the Department’s continuing adoption of technology and innovative solutions to improve postal operations, enhance service delivery and provide citizens with greater convenience and accessibility.

National Postal Week 2026 will provide an opportunity to celebrate the rich legacy of India Post while highlighting its transformation in response to the changing needs of citizens. The celebrations will reinforce the vision of India Post as a modern, inclusive, technology-enabled and citizen-centric postal network, continuing to connect people and communities while creating new possibilities through innovation, accessibility and service excellence.
The celebrations reaffirm the enduring role of the Department of Posts in delivering essential services while highlighting its continuous journey of modernisation, innovation and citizen-centric service delivery.
