The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has revised the base year of National Accounts to 2022–23, with the objective of more accurately reflecting the current structure of the economy, incorporating updated data sources and aligning estimation practices with evolving international standards. In alignment with the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at National level, the base year for Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) will also be revised by States/UTs to ensure more accurate, consistent and comparable estimates of the States’ economic performance over time.

In order to help the States/UTs to understand the changes introduced at the National level and for standardization of compilation practices across states, to promote uniformity, transparency, and comparability in Regional Accounts Statistics, National Accounts Division (NAD) of the National Statistics Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), is organizing a three-day All-India Workshop on State Income and Related Aggregates with new base year (2022-2023) for officers/officials of the Directorates of Economics & Statistics of the States/UTs during 8th to 10th April, 2026, at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Methodological changes and other issues in compilation of GSDP will be discussed in detail for all the institutional and industry sectors of the economy. In addition, draft uniform guidelines for compilation of District Domestic Product (DDP) by the State/UT will also be discussed.

The inaugural session will be held on 8th April, 2026 in the presence of Dr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary (MoSPI) and Shri Peeyush Kumar, Principal Secretary (Planning), Andhra Pradesh.
