BIHAR SIR 2025: All electors and All political parties involved at ground level

- ECI is revising the Electoral Rolls of Bihar as per the Constitution of India and the Law. Regular Press Notes (PNs) and Advts are being issued to keep the citizens fully informed.
- Citizens are also aware that revision of electoral roll is mandatory before every election as per Section 21(2)(a) of the RP Act 1950 & Rule 25 of the Registration of Electors Rules 1960. (Link: Para 5, PN 237, 30 June)
- Bihar became the 1st State to limit the number of electors per booth to 1,200 to avoid long queues. Number of Polling Stations were accordingly increased from 77,895 to 90,712. (Link: Para 1, PN 260, 21 July)
- Similarly, the number of BLOs was also increased from 77,895 to 90,712.

- To assist electors of Bihar, the number of volunteers is also being increased from 1 lakh (Link: Para 5, PN 236, 28 June) to nearly 4 lakhs (Link: Para 4, PN 240, 3 July).
- All the 12 Recognized Political Parties of Bihar also increased their no. of BLAs from 1,38,680 to 1,60,813 (Link: Para 1b, PN 270, 27 July)
- Lists of electors who were reported dead, permanently shifted, having two votes and who could not be contacted after at least 3 visits of BLOs have been shared with all Political parties and their BLAs on or before 20th July.
- As per SIR, Booth-wise Draft Electoral Roll were published on 1st Aug and shared with all Political Parties and Advt given (Link: Para 1, PN 278,1 August). The draft list is available at ECI portal: https://voters.eci.gov.in/download-eroll?stateCode=S04.
- ECI is sharing the Status of Claims & Objections regularly through Daily Bulletins.
