तल्लि दुर्गा भवानि कोलुवुन्ना ई पुण्यभूमि पै मी अन्दरिनि कलवडम नाकु आनन्दमुगा उन्नदि॥
Honourable Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Syed Abdul Nazeer ji, Chief Minister and my friend Shri Chandrababu Naidu ji, my cabinet colleagues, dynamic Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan ji, Ministers of the State Government, all Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly, and my dear brothers and sisters of Andhra Pradesh!
Today, as I stand upon the sacred soil of Amaravati, I do not merely see a city—I see a dream taking shape before my eyes. A new Amaravati, a new Andhra. Amaravati is that land where tradition and progress walk hand-in-hand. Where there is the peace of Buddhist heritage, and also the dynamism of building a Viksit Bharat (developed India). Today, projects worth nearly Rs 60,000 crore have been inaugurated and their foundation stones laid here. These are not merely constructions of concrete—they are firm foundations of Andhra Pradesh’s aspirations and the hopes of a Viksit Bharat. Bowing at the feet of Lord Veerabhadra, Lord Amaralingeswara and Tirupati Balaji, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Andhra Pradesh. I also convey my best wishes to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu Garu and Shri Pawan Kalyan ji.
Friends,
We all know that the capital of Indralok was called Amaravati, and now Amaravati is the capital of Andhra Pradesh. This is not a mere coincidence. It is also an auspicious sign of the creation of a “Golden Andhra.” This “Golden Andhra” will strengthen Bharat's journey towards a 'Viksit Bharat', and Amaravati will energise the vision of “Golden Andhra.”
Friends,
Amaravati will be that city where every young person in Andhra Pradesh shall see their dreams realised. In the fields of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Green Energy, Clean Industry, Education, and Health, in the coming years, Amaravati shall emerge as a leading city. For all these sectors, the essential infrastructure is being developed with record speed by the Central Government, in full cooperation with the State Government. Just now, our Chandrababu ji was praising me a great deal on matters of technology. But today I shall reveal a secret. In the initial days, after I had become the Chief Minister of Gujarat, I used to closely observe the various initiatives Chandrababu ji was undertaking in Hyderabad, and I learnt a great deal from him. I have had the opportunity to implement those learnings today, and I am doing so. Based on my own experience, I can say that whether it is future technologies, working on a massive scale, or swiftly implementing plans on the ground, Chandrababu ji executes such tasks in the finest possible manner.
Friends,
In 2015, I had the privilege of laying the foundation stone of the people’s capital. Over the past years, the Central Government has provided assistance to Amaravati in every possible way. All necessary steps have been taken to build basic infrastructure here. Now that the State Government has been formed under the leadership of Chandrababu Garu, all obstructions that had previously hindered progress have been removed. Development works have gathered momentum. The construction of key buildings such as the High Court, the Legislative Assembly, Secretariat, and Raj Bhavan is being given high priority.
Friends,
NTR Garu had dreamt of a developed Andhra Pradesh. Together, we must make Amaravati and Andhra Pradesh the growth engines of a Viksit Bharat. We must fulfil the dream of NTR Garu. Chandrababu Garu, Brother Pawan Kalyan— इदि मनमु चेय्याली इदि मनमे चेय्याली।
Friends,
In the past ten years, Bharat has placed special emphasis on physical, digital, and social infrastructure. Today, Bharat is among those nations whose infrastructure is rapidly becoming modern. Andhra Pradesh is also reaping the benefits of this progress. Even today, projects worth thousands of crores connected to rail and road infrastructure have been granted to Andhra Pradesh. A new chapter in connectivity is being written here. These projects will improve district-to-district connectivity and enhance links with neighbouring states, making it easier for farmers to transport their produce to larger markets and creating greater convenience for industries. The tourism sector and pilgrimages will also be boosted. For instance, with the Renigunta–Naidupeta Highway, darshan at Tirupati Balaji will become easier, and devotees will be able to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara in much less time.
Friends,
Every country that has developed rapidly has placed a strong emphasis on its railway system. The past decade has marked a transformation of the railways in Bharat. The central Government has sent record funding for the development of railways in Andhra Pradesh. From 2009 to 2014, the total railway budget for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana was less than Rs 900 crore. Today, the rail budget for Andhra alone exceeds Rs 9,000 crore—an increase of over tenfold.
Friends,
Thanks to the increased railway budget, the railways in Andhra Pradesh have achieved 100% electrification. Eight pairs of modern Vande Bharat trains are currently running here. Additionally, the modern and well-equipped Amrit Bharat train also passes through Andhra Pradesh. In the past 10 years, more than 750 railway flyovers and underpasses have been constructed in Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, over 70 railway stations in the state are being upgraded under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Friends,
When such a large volume of work is undertaken for infrastructure, the multiplier effect is immense. The raw materials used in construction boost the manufacturing industry. Whether it is cement, steel, or transportation—every such sector benefits. The direct impact of infrastructure development is on our youth, who find increased employment opportunities. Thousands of youth in Andhra Pradesh are finding new avenues of employment through these infrastructure projects.
Friends,
From the ramparts of the Red Fort, I had declared that building a Viksit Bharat shall require four pillars: the poor, the farmer, the youth, and women. These four pillars are central to the policies of the NDA Government. We are particularly prioritising the welfare of farmers. To ensure that farmers are not burdened financially, the Central Government has spent nearly Rs 12 lakh crore in the past decade on providing subsidised fertilisers. Thousands of new and modern seeds have also been distributed to farmers. Under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, farmers in Andhra Pradesh have so far received insurance claims amounting to Rs 5,500 crore. Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, over Rs 17,500 crore have been transferred directly into the accounts of lakhs of farmers in Andhra Pradesh.
Friends,
Today, an extensive network of irrigation projects is being laid across the country. The campaign for river linking has also been launched. Our aim is to ensure that every farm receives water and no farmer suffers from water scarcity. Since the formation of the new government here, the Polavaram Project has gained fresh momentum. The lives of lakhs and crores of people in Andhra Pradesh will be transformed by this project. The NDA Government at the Centre is extending full support to the State Government to ensure the rapid completion of the Polavaram Project.
Friends,
For decades, the land of Andhra has played a pivotal role in making Bharat a space power. Every time a mission is launched from Sriharikota, it fills crores of Indians with pride. The space sector has long attracted the imagination of millions of Indian youth. Now, our nation and our defence sector are being strengthened by a new institution. A short while ago, we laid the foundation stone for DRDO’s new missile testing range. The Navdurga Testing Range being established in Nagayalanka will empower Bharat's defence might, much like Goddess Durga herself. I extend my congratulations to the scientists of our nation and to the people of Andhra Pradesh for this achievement.
Friends,
Today, Bharat's strength lies not just in its weaponry, but in its unity. The spirit of unity is being further reinforced through our Ekta Malls. Across numerous cities in the country, Ekta Malls are being established. I am delighted that now an Ekta Mall will also be established in Visakhapatnam. This mall shall house products from every state in Bharat. As a result, the people of Andhra Pradesh will experience the crafts, art, and culture of the entire nation under one roof. Furthermore, this initiative will also boost the local economy, strengthening the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
We have just heard Chandrababu Ji speak, during which he referred to 21st June – International Yoga Day. I am deeply grateful to Chandrababu Ji, the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and the people of the state for inviting me to host the nation’s main event for International Yoga Day here in Andhra Pradesh. I sincerely express my heartfelt gratitude for this honour.
As Chandrababu Ji mentioned, I myself shall participate in yoga alongside the people of Andhra Pradesh on 21st June. A global-scale event will be held here, making it an occasion of great significance. This year’s celebration holds particular importance, as it marks a major milestone in the ten-year journey of International Yoga Day.
Today, there is a growing global fascination with yoga. On 21st June, the eyes of the entire world will be upon Andhra Pradesh. I urge that, over the next 50 days, a vibrant atmosphere promoting yoga be created throughout the state. Let yoga competitions be organised far and wide. Let Andhra Pradesh astonish the world by setting a new world record. I firmly believe this can and will be achieved under the able leadership of Chandrababu Ji.
Friends,
There is no shortage of dreamers in Andhra Pradesh, nor is there any lack of those with the strength and resolve to realise those dreams. I say this with confidence: Andhra Pradesh is on the right path and has gained the right momentum. Now, we must sustain and accelerate this pace of progress.
I can confidently say that Chandrababu Ji’s vision to develop Amaravati within three years is both ambitious and achievable. It is clear to me that the activities focused solely on Amaravati over these three years will have a tremendous impact on the overall GDP of Andhra Pradesh.
Once again, I assure the people of Andhra Pradesh—and my esteemed colleagues gathered here today—that I shall always walk shoulder to shoulder with you in your pursuit of progress and development.
Once again, I extend my heartfelt best wishes to each and every one of you.
