DPIIT implements Special Campaign 2.0 for improving Swachhata and disposal of pending references
Campaign frees more than 22,000 Sq. Ft. space and earns more than Rs. 1 Lakh revenue as Scrap Disposal

Special Campaign 2.0 for improving Swachhata and disposal of pending references was successfully conducted in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and in 18 organisations under it, in 95 campaign sites from 2nd – 31st October, 2022. The main focus was on field/outstation establishments. In sequel to Special Campaign 2.0, the activities undertaken during the Campaign phase were taken forward for continuous implementation during November, 2022 to August, 2023.

The Department has put in place a dedicated dashboard for monitoring disposal of PMO / VIP References, MP References, DO letters, Public Grievances, etc. During the Campaign, 2,826 Public Grievances/ Public Grievance Appeals, 161 PMO references, 158 MP References, 18 Inter Ministerial references, 66 State Govt. References, 11 Parliamentary Assurances (pending for more than 3 months) have been successfully liquidated/disposed. On record management front, 5.42 lakh physical files were reviewed, out of which, 1,63,997 files were weeded out. Similarly, 48,267 e-files were reviewed out of which, 4300 e-files closed. 1,45,031 files were digitized in all the offices under DPIIT. As a result, 22,087 Sqr. Ft. space was freed and Rs. 1,09,500/- revenue was earned as Scrap Disposal.

Special Campaign 2.0 has served as a platform to understand the importance of swachhata at work places, the role of ICT in work efficiency and above all, facilitated the organizations to institutionalize a sustainable mechanism to give a conducive work environment to its employees and other stakeholders. Many good practices were reportedly adopted by these organizations to bring improvement in work places.
All out efforts are being done to take forward the benefits of Special Campaign 2.0 through implementation of Special Campaign 3.0, scheduled from 02.10.2023. Campaign sites are being identified across India under DPIIT to implement this initiative. The Department deputed 49 officers to visit 75 campaign sites and report on the progress of the campaign.
