COVID-19 Update

 

India’s Cumulative Recoveries crosses 3 Cr mark

 

National Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 37.73 Cr

 

37,154 Daily New Cases reported in last 24 hours

 

India's Active Caseload (4,50,899) presently constitutes just 1.47% of total cases

 

Daily Positivity Rate (2.59%) less than 3% for 21 consecutive days

In a significant milestone in its fight against COVID-19, India’s cumulative recoveries has exceeded 3 Crore people.Out of the people infected since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,00,14,713people have already recovered from COVID-19 and39,649patients have recovered in the last 24 hours. This constitutes an overall recovery rate of 97.22%, which is showing a sustained increasing trend.

On the other hand, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage exceeded 37.73 crore. A total of 37,73,52,501vaccine doses have been administered through 48,51,209 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am today. 12,35,287 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st June, 2021. The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country.

India has reported 37,154daily new cases in the last 24 hours.

Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported since fifteen continuous days. This is a result of sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs.

India’s Active Caseload today stands at 4,50,899and active cases are now only 1.46% of the country's total Positive Cases.

With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 14,32,343tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 43 crore (43,23,17,813) tests so far.

While on one side testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, a continued decline in weekly case positivity is noticed. Weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 2.32% while the Daily Positivity rate stands at 2.59% today. Daily Positivity rate has remained less than 3% for 21 consecutive days, and has remained below 5% for 35 consecutive days now.

COVID-19 Vaccination Update

 

More than 38.86 Crore vaccine doses provided to States/UTs

More than 1.54 Cr balance and unutilized doses still available with States/UTs and private hospitals to be administered

 

More than 38.86 crore (38,86,09,790) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through all sources and a further 63,84,230 doses are in the pipeline. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 37,31,88,834 doses (as per data available at 8 AM today).

More than 1.54 Cr (1,54,20,956) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs and private hospitals to be administered.

Myths vs Facts

No case of Delta Plus reported from sample sequencing in Tripura

The samples tested revealed cases of Delta Variant

There were some Media reports regarding rising cases of Delta Plus variants in Tripura. In this regard, it is informed that:

 

  1. 152 samples were sent from Tripura to NIBMG Kalyani for Whole Genome Sequence(WGS).
  2. The random samples were of people tested RT-PCR positive between April and May 2021
  3. The results of the WGS done at NIBMG Kalyani reveal-
  4. 3 samples had tested positive for B.1.1.7
  5. 11 samples had tested positive for B.1.617.1(Kappa)
  6. 138 samples had tested positive for B.1.617.2 (Delta)

There was no case of Delta Plus reported among the aforementioned lot of sequenced samples.

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, and Minister of Chemical and Fertilizers, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya today virtually inaugurated two PSA plants at Sir Takhtasinhji hospital, Bhavnagar in the presence of Shri SarbanandaSonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways. Along with 2 Oxygen Generation plant of 1000 LPM capacity each, copper piping network and associated facilities like fire fighting system and automatic oxygen source changeover system were also inaugurated.

Maharashtra: Maharashtra on Sunday reported 8,535 new cases of coronavirus infection, taking the state’s tally to 61,57,799. 6,013 patients were discharged today, taking the number of recovered patients to 59,12,479. On the other hand, the death toll rose by 156 to 125,878. The state currently has an active caseload of 1,16,165. Maharashtra’s recovery rate stands at 96.02 percent while the case fatality rate stands at 2.04 percent.Maharashtra on July 11 has vaccinated 1,76,959 through 949 centres. The state has inoculated 3,65,25,990 people till now.

Gujarat: With the number of daily Covid-19 cases remaining below 100 in Gujarat over the last few weeks, schools and colleges are now set to reopen for in-person classroom studies from July 15.Gujarat has around 4.8 crore people above the age of 18 years. Out of them, nearly 2.15 crore people have already received their first dose, while 63.40 lakh have got their second dose also.On Sunday, Gujarat reported 42 new cases of COVID-19, which took its overall infection count to 8,24,242. No fresh death was reported on Sunday and the toll stood at 10,073.

Rajasthan: Rajasthan government on Sunday withdrew curfew and reopened multiplexes and outdoor activities with certain restrictions in view of the constant decrease in the Covid positive cases.Fifty-two fresh Covid cases were reported in Rajasthan on Sunday. No death due to the coronavirus has been reported in the state. Till now, 9,53,126 people have tested positive for the virus in the state and 8,945 people have died. The number of active cases in Rajasthan is 702.

Madhya Pradesh: Madhya Pradesh on Sunday reported 23 fresh coronavirus cases, which took its infection tally to 7,90,175.Of the total number of 52 districts in MP, new cases were reported only in nine districts. No cases were reported from 43 districts.

Chhattisgarh: Chhattisgarh's COVID-19 tally mounted to 9,97,973 on Sunday as 188 more people tested positive for the infection, while three fresh fatalities pushed the toll to 13,478. The number of recoveries reached 9,79,711 after 42 people were discharged from various hospitals while 221 others completed their home isolation stay during the day. The number of active cases in Chhattisgarstands at 4,784.Chhattisgarh has reported 382 cases of Black Fungus. Till date, 180 are active while 134 patients have been cured.The state has vaccinated 1.05 crore persons with the first dose. The state has the capacity to vaccinate around 3.5 lakh persons per day if adequate vaccines are made available.

Goa: The Goa government on Sunday extended till July 19 the coronavirus-induced statewide curfew, but announced further relaxations as part of which it allowed gyms to reopen and operate at 50 per cent of their capacity.Goa's COVID-19 caseload went up by 131 to reach 1,68,716 on Sunday, while the death of two patients took the fatality count to 3,097. A total of 241 patients recuperated from the infection during the day, which pushed the state's overall recovery count to 1,63,771. The number of active COVID-19 cases is 1,848 at present.

KERALA: The state on Sunday recorded 12,220 freshCOVID-19 cases, pushing the infection caseload to 30,65,336, while the toll rose to 14,586 with 97 moredeaths. The Test Positivity Rate was 10.48 per cent. So far a total of 1,57,52,089 people in the state havebeen vaccinated. Out of this, 1,15,76,108 took first dose and 41,75,981 second dose.

TAMIL NADU: Tamil Nadu reported 2,775 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, pushing the overall caseload to 25.18lakh, while the toll mounted to 33,418 with 47 additional deaths.

KARNATAKA: As per the State Government bulletin released for 11-07-2021, New Cases Reported:1,978; Total Active Cases: 36,737 New Covid Deaths: 56; Total Covid Deaths: 35,835;Around 89,037 were vaccinated yesterday with a total of 2,56,10,929 have been vaccinated in the statetill now12.07.2021

ANDHRA PRADESH: State reported 2665 new Covid-19 cases after testing 91,677 samples with 16deaths, while 3231 got discharged during the last 24 hours. Total cases: 19,22,843; Active cases: 28,680;Discharges: 18,81,161; Deaths: 13,002. A total of 1,70,54,774 doses of Covid vaccines have beenadministered in the state as on yesterday, which include 1,35,30,304 first doses and 35,24,470 seconddoses.

TELANGANA: DAILY DIGEST ON COVID: (12.07.2021): As many as 465 new cases and four fatalities werereported yesterday taking the total number of Cases in the state to 6,31,683 and deaths to 3,729. TheRecovery rate in the state is 97.77 percent against the national average of 97.18 percent. The CaseFatality Rate (CFR) is reported to be 0.59 percent against the national average of 1.3 percent. Thenumber of Active Cases in the state now stands at 10,316.

Assam: Assam on Sunday reported 16 more COVID-19 deaths, which took the toll to 4,828, taking the total number of infections to 5,33,663, according to a bulletin issued by the National Health Mission.

Manipur: Manipur records highest number of cases of COVID-19 with 911 after May 30 with 14 deaths recorded. Also, 205 persons infected with Delta variant till date.Total number of people who have received their vaccines in the State are 8,71,470. Out of the total, 94,268 have received their second dose.

Meghalaya: Fresh cases marginally exceeded the number of recoveries in the State on Sunday while two COVID-19 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. 425 fresh cases were detected in the state as against 421 recoveries. The active tally now stands at 4,365 while the number of recoveries has gone up to 49,307.

Nagaland: Nagaland reports 78 new COVID-19 cases and nil death on Sunday. Active cases are 971 while tally is 25,976.A total of 6,04,782 persons have been inoculated in Nagaland so far. Of them, 5,13,022 have received their first doses while 91,760 have received their second doses.

Sikkim: New COVID-19 Case reported: 144 Total Active Case in Sikkim 2267, New Death 02 (Total Deaths till now 315), (Total Recovered cases 193467), Total Confirmed cases 22307.Positivity Rate 19.1%,. Recovery Rate 88.2%.

Tripura: In Tripura, no delta Plus in Tripura Union Health Ministry Clarifies. 518 Positive and 3 diedof COVID-19 in last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 6.03.
