COVID-19 Update

  • On a downward trajectory, India's Active Caseload further declines to 7,02,887
  • India reports 53,256 New Cases in the last 24 hours; lowest since 88 days
  • Daily Recoveries outnumber Daily New Cases for 39th consecutive day
  • Recovery Rate increases to 96.36%
  • Daily Positivity Rate stands at 3.83%,less than 5% positivity for 14 consecutive days

India has reported 53,256daily new cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest since 88 days.India continues to report a sustained slide in the daily new COVID-19 cases.Less than 1 lakh Daily New Caseshave been reported for 14 continuous days now. This is a result of sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs.

India has also been witnessing a continuous fall in the active caseload. The country’s Active Caseload today stands at 7,02,887today.A net decline of 26,356is witnessed in the last 24 hours and active cases are now only 2.35% of the country's total Positive Cases.

As more people are getting recovered from COVID-19 infection, India’s Daily Recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for 39 consecutive days now. 78,190recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.

Nearly 25,000(24,934) more recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours as compared to the daily new cases.

Out of the people infected since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,88,44,199people have already recovered from COVID-19 and78,190patients have recovered in the last 24 hours. This constitutes an overall recovery rate of 96.36%, which is showing a sustained increasing trend.

COVID-19 Vaccination Update

More than 29.35 crore (29,35,04,820) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 26,36,26,884 doses (as per data available at 8 AM today).

More than 2.98 crore (2,98,77,936) COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered. Furthermore, more than 2,310 vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by the States/UTs within the next 3 days.

India’s COVID19 Vaccination Coverage crosses the landmark of 28 crores

In a significant development, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage has exceeded 28 Crores yesterday. A total of 28,00,36,898vaccine doses have been administered through 38,24,408 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am today. 30,39,996vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.These include:

The new phase of universalization of COVID19 vaccination commences from today. The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID19 vaccination throughout the country. The nationwide COVID19 Vaccination program was launched on 16th Jan 2021 by the Prime Minister.

Yoga remains ray of hope in Covid-hit world, says PM Modi

Frontline Corona warriors made Yoga their shield: PM

 

On the occasion of seventh International yoga day, Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi talked of Yoga’s role during the pandemic. He said Yoga has proved a source of strength and poise for people during this difficult time. He pointed out that it was easy for countries to forget Yoga Day during the pandemic as it is not intrinsic to their culture but, instead, enthusiasm for Yoga has increased globally.

The Prime Minister recalled how frontline Corona warriors made Yoga their shield and made themselves strong through yoga and how people, doctors nurses took to Yoga to deal with the effects of the virus. Instances of yoga sessions conducted by doctors and nurses in the hospitals appeared everywhere. The Prime Minister noted experts are stressing the importance of breathing exercises like pranayama and anulom-vilom for strengthening our respiratory system.

Minority Affairs Minister Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi launches a nationwide “JaanHaiToJahaanHai” campaign to create awareness on Corona vaccination in rural and remote areas of the country

The Minority Affairs Minister Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today launched a nationwide “JaanHaiToJahaanHai” awareness campaign to create awareness on Corona vaccination in rural and remote areas of the country and also to “Crush and Curb” the rumours and apprehensions, being spread by some vested interests regarding the on-going vaccination drive.

Launching the campaign from the Primary Health Centre, Chamraua in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Naqvi said that “Hesitation to Vaccination is Corona Invitation”.Shri Naqvi said that some vested interests are trying to spread rumours and apprehensions regarding Corona vaccines in some areas of the country. Such elements are enemies of the health and well-being of the people.

BHEL supplements Nation’s efforts of battling the COVID pandemic, more than 5 lakhs CuM of medical oxygen provided so far by its plants

 

The second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic rapidly developed into an unprecedented crisis for the nation, and in the midst of this grave national crisis, BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd.) has been working on war footing to do its bit for the country and fellow citizens.  BHEL’s plants located at Bhopal and Haridwar, have responded to the situation with all possible resources at their command for supplying medical oxygen in and around their vicinity.

Dr. Jitendra Singh reviews Vaccination drive with J&K authorities; Says, there will be 100% Vaccination for 45 plus by June end in Jammu and Kashmir

Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh reviewed the Vaccination drive with the Jammu & Kashmir government authorities yesterday at a nearly two-hour long meeting held in the Civil Secretariat to evaluate the Vaccination targets achieved in the Union Territory so far and to discuss the roadmap planned for the countrywide “Free Vaccine for All” campaign that began today across all the States and Union Territories.

Kerala:Kerala recorded 11,647 new Covid cases on Sunday. With 112 new fatalities, the death toll mounted to 12,060. Test positivity rate was recorded at 10.84 %.  A total of 1,22,12,485 people have so far been vaccinated in the state. Out of this, 97,49,540 took first dose and 24,62,945 took second dose.

 

Tamil Nadu:Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday announced fresh relaxations in 27 districts, even as he extended the lockdown to curb Covid­19 till June 28. State government has allowed private hospitals to provide treatment to black fungus under CM insurance scheme. Continuing the declining trend, Tamil Nadu logged 7,817 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, pushing the caseload to 24.22 lakh, while 182 deaths took the toll to 31,197 leaving 69,372 active infections. Arrangements have been made at 75 centres to provide Covishield second dose in 28 days to those leaving for foreign countries. Till date 1,26,80,121 have been vaccinated across the State, of which 1,04,16,075 received first dose and 22,64,046 received second dose.

 

Karnataka:New Cases Reported: 4,517; Total Active Cases: 1,26,813; New Covid Deaths: 120; Total Covid Deaths: 33,883; Around 57,057 were vaccinated yesterday with a total of 1,84,52,895 have been vaccinated in the state till now. The capital city of Bangalore will return to normalcy after a long period, with the enforcement of the second phase of unlocking, preparations has been made for resumption of business, bus and metro rail services. Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta has suggested that a special vaccine campaign to be launched in the city on Monday (June 21) should be done through zonal microplan and vaccinate the eligible. Task force of experts led by Dr Devishetti, formed to study Covid Third Wave, has advised the government that schools can be resumed depending on the Corona situation in the respective area as the corona 2nd wave is in control.

 

Andhra Pradesh: State reported 5646 new Covid-19 cases after testing 1,00,001 samples with 50 deaths, while 7772 got discharged during the last 24 hours. Total cases: 18,50,563; Active cases: 63,068; Discharges: 17,75,176; Deaths: 12,319.  A total of 1,39,32,868 doses of Covid vaccines have been administered in the state as on yesterday, which include 1,11,94,260 first doses and 27,38,608 second doses. The state achieved a record of over 13.26 lakh people getting vaccinated from 6 AM to 8 PM in more than 2200 locations on Sunday under the mega vaccination drive. In the process, the state also crossed the one crore mark in the administration of the first dose of coronavirus vaccine since the programme began on January 16. With the improvement in the situation, it was decided to relax curfew from 6 am to 6 pm today.

 

Telangana:A total of 1006 new cases and 11 fatalities were reported yesterday taking the total number of cases in the state to 6,13,202 and deaths to 3,657. No cases were reported in two districts of Adilabad and Nirmal for the first time after a gap of over two months. The recovery rate in the state reported to be 96.52 percent against the national average of 96.27 percent. The number of Active Cases in the state stands at 17,765. Coming to vaccination drive in the state, a total of 1,03,145 people of all sections received the first dose and 3065 the second dose yesterday. The cumulative number of people who received the first dose in the state till now stands at 76,11,888 and the second dose at 15,61,197.

 

Maharashtra: Maharashtra on Sunday reported 9,361 new Covid-19 cases and 190 deaths, taking the tally to 59,72,781 and the toll to 1,17,961. As many as 9,101 patients recovered. The total number of active cases stands at 1,32 241. The case recovery rate in the state is95.76 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.97 per cent.Maharashtra has cumulatively vaccinated 2,75,76,177 beneficiaries for COVID-19 as on June 20. A total of 20 cases of the new Sars-CoV-2 variant AY.1, also dubbed the Delta-plus, have been found in samples collected from at least four districts of Maharashtra — Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Palghar and Jalgaon.As many as 7,998 cases of black fungus have been reported so far and 729 people have succumbed to the disease in Maharashtra, according to the State Health Department's data on Monday. Of these, 4,398 patients are currently under treatment for the disease.

Gujarat: With a further decline in fresh cases of coronavirus in Gujarat, the number fell below 200 Sunday. A total of 185 new cases were reported from across the state. The total number of cases, so far has reached 8,30,598. Also, four persons succumbed to the virus taking the toll to 10,032.Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced a statewide vaccination mega-campaign starting Monday. It will be observed on June 21 at 9 am in the presence of ministers, leaders, dignitaries at 1,025 vaccination centres in 33 districts and 8 municipal corporation areas.

Rajasthan: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday urged citizens of the state to play their role in combating the coronavirus pandemic and make the vaccination campaign successful. The CM was addressing a video conference organised on Sunday to increase vaccine participation.Rajasthan recorded four deaths and 144 coronavirus positive cases on Sunday, taking the total number of fatalities and positive cases to 8,895 and 9,51,105, respectively.

Madhya Pradesh*- In Madhya Pradesh, in order to protect the people from Coronavirus infection, a Mega Vaccination Campaign has been launched today. The target is to vaccinate 10 lakh people on the first day of the campaign. To achieve the target, seven thousand Vaccination Centers have been set up in 52 districts of the state.Madhya Pradesh on Sunday reported just 87 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest in the recent past, and 30 deaths, taking the tally to 7,89,261 and the toll to 8,767 while 285 patients recovered.

Chhattisgarh: In Chhattisgarh, all the citizens of the state are being registered for COVID vaccination through the CoWIN portal from today. The facility of on-site registration is also available at the Vaccination Centres.The population of the age group of 18 to 44 years in Chhattisgarh is about one crore 35 lakhs. About 12 lakh people of this age group have been inoculated with COVID vaccine so far. Chhattisgarh on Sunday reported 352 fresh coronavirus positive cases and 10 fatalities, taking the infection count to 9,90,675 and the toll to 13,387.

Goa: The Goa government on Saturday extended of restrictions imposed in the state to check the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) till June 28. Shops in Shoping malls, except cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes, entertainment zones allowed to be open between 7 am to 3 PM.
The number of COVID-19 cases in Goa went up by 207 on Sunday to reach 1,64,436. The toll rose by six to touch 2,990, while the discharge of 406 people from hospitals took the recovery count to 1,58,178. The state's active caseload stands at 3,268.

Assam: 30 Covid deaths were reported in the last 24 hours while 1,775 new infections were detected from among 78,050 tests on Sunday in the state. Kamrup Metro saw 133 new cases.
Around 2000 Covid vaccination centres have been activated and each district has set separate targets for extensive COVID-19 vaccination campaign which will begin across the state on Monday. With the threat of flood looming large, the Assam government has chalked out a detailed plan for providing shelter and relief to the people by maintaining Covid protocol. A standard operating procedure has been sent to all the districts to ensure that there is no outbreak of the pandemic in the relief camps.

Manipur:Daily test positivity rate (TPR) remains above 10 per cent for three consecutive days as the state reported 527 new positive cases out of just 4491 samples along with eight fatalities on Sunday. Out of the total 20 lakh people in the state who are eligible to get vaccinated, around 5 lakh above 18 years of age have been vaccinated till date while target has been set to vaccinate 70 per cent of the total population within December this year.The cumulative number of people who have been inoculated in Manipur reached 4,93,501.

Meghalaya:Meghalaya on Sunday recorded 390 new COVID-19 cases while four people succumbed to the viral infection in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 780.

 

Sikkim:87 new Covid infectionsand 139 recoveries in past 24hrs in Sikkim.Only six people developed symptoms severe enough to require hospitalisation over the past 24 hours and collectively, only 100 of the 2,697 currently active cases are in hospital and the rest of the Covid positive people are recuperating at home. The two Covid ICU facilities in the State - at STNM Hospital and CRH-Tadong - have a total of 14 under their watch at present.

Nagaland:Nagaland reports 57 new cases and one death on Sunday. Active cases are 1890 while total reaches 24, 248.In an open letter addressed to the state Chief Minister, the Business Association of Nagaland has sought the assistance of the state govt to help the business community in Nagaland to overcome the hardships caused by the pandemic.

Haryana: Total Number of Samples found positive till date is 767418. Total active COVID-19 patients is2491. Number of deaths is 9246. Cumulative number of people vaccinated till date is 7032488.

 

Chandigarh: Total Lab confirmed COVID-19 cases is 61430. Total number of Active Cases is   353. Total number of COVID-19 deaths till date is  806.

 

Himachal Pradesh: Total number of patients tested Covid positive till date is 200410. Total number of Active Cases is 2711. Total deaths reported till date is 3426.
