DST readies for Special Campaign 6.0 beginning 2nd October 2026, building on the achievements of the extended implementation of Special Campaign 5.0

In line with the Hon'ble Prime Minister's vision of institutionalising Swachhata and enhancing efficiency in public administration, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), along with its Autonomous Institutions, Subordinate Offices and Field Units, continued to sustain the momentum of Special Campaign 5.0 during its extended implementation period from November 2025 to August 2026.
The Department undertook focused initiatives towards disposal of pending matters, effective record management, grievance redressal, cleanliness drives and optimum utilisation of office space. These sustained efforts have resulted in significant achievements across the Department and its affiliated institutions.
The major achievements during the period include:
- Disposal of 1,426 Public Grievances.
- Disposal of 201 Public Grievance Appeals.
- Disposal of 35 VIP References and 17 Inter-ministerial consultations.
- Disposal of 7,099 files, comprising 5,455 physical files and 1,644 e-files.
- Conduct of 324 cleanliness campaigns.
- Release of 51,989 square feet of office space through systematic record management and disposal of obsolete materials.
- Generation of ₹19,20,173 as revenue through scientific disposal of scrap and redundant materials.
Building upon these achievements, the Department of Science and Technology is fully prepared for carrying out the activities under the Special Campaign 6.0, which will be implemented from 2nd October to 31st October 2026. The Department remains committed to promoting cleanliness, reducing pendency, improving workplace efficiency and strengthening responsive governance through sustained implementation of the Special Campaign across all its organizations.
