The IndiaAI Mission, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), held a bilateral dialogue with a delegation from Sweden under the Sweden-India Technology and AI Corridor (SITAC) at Electronics Niketan, New Delhi.

The session brought together senior representatives from MeitY, IndiaAI Mission, the Embassy of Sweden in India, Business Sweden and leading Swedish companies to discuss India’s evolving AI ecosystem, digitalisation priorities and opportunities for deeper bilateral engagement in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The session commenced with a welcome by Shri Ajit Kumar, Joint Secretary, International Cooperation Division, MeitY, followed by opening remarks by Shri Saurabh Vijay IAS, CEO, IndiaAI Mission. H.E. Agnes Julin, Minister Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Sweden in India, also addressed the gathering.

During the session, IndiaAI presented an overview of India’s AI ecosystem and digital roadmap, highlighting the opportunities emerging for Swedish companies across India’s rapidly expanding AI landscape. The presentation outlined the key priorities of the IndiaAI Mission, including compute capacity, datasets and models, indigenous and domain-specific AI, application development, future skills, start-up financing and Safe & Trusted AI.

The presentation also provided an overview of the opportunities emerging for international technology and industrial companies as India continues to strengthen its AI infrastructure, innovation ecosystem and pathways for responsible AI adoption.

The discussions further focused on the policy, infrastructure and governance conditions shaping enterprise AI adoption in India, including data governance, localisation, responsible AI and market access.

The Swedish delegation, led by Mr. Johnny Eriksson, Market Manager, Business Sweden, shared an overview of SITAC and Swedish priorities in AI and digitalisation. Representatives from leading Swedish companies including Autoliv, Consat, IKEA, Saab, Sandvik AI, Sandvik Intelligent Manufacturing, SKF and Volvo Group participated in the discussions.

The interactive dialogue brought together leading Swedish companies and representatives from India’s AI and technology ecosystem, including Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Zenteiq, Avataar AI, Innefu, CoRover.ai, Gnani and Globals ITES. The discussion explored potential areas of convergence between Swedish industrial and technology capabilities and India’s AI priorities, including industrial AI, trusted data, compute, skills and responsible AI, with an emphasis on translating areas of shared interest into practical engagement.

The participation of Indian AI and technology companies provided the Swedish delegation with an opportunity to gain insights into India’s enterprise AI capabilities, technology solutions and deployment-ready innovations. The interaction also sought to identify opportunities for pilots, co-development, commercial partnerships and other forms of industry engagement based on specific enterprise and industrial requirements.

The discussions under SITAC are expected to contribute towards a focused and sustained Sweden–India engagement agenda in AI and digitalisation, including potential pilots, testbeds, ecosystem partnerships and other avenues for continued cooperation.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Johnny Eriksson, Market Manager, Business Sweden, followed by closing remarks from the IndiaAI Mission.

The bilateral dialogue reflects the shared interest of India and Sweden in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to strengthen innovation, enterprise adoption and technology-led growth, while fostering responsible and trusted AI ecosystems.
