Palakkad: The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, organized to bring the Central Government's flagship schemes to the people, is continuing in Palakkad district.

This morning, the event held at the Para Junction in Elappully of Chittur block was inaugurated by Elappully Grama Panchayat President Revathi Babu.

She said that the help of local governments should also be involved to bring government schemes to the grassroots level and wished VBSY all success. The Panchayat President distributed gas connections under the PM Ujjwala Yojana scheme.

Banks and various Central Public Sector Undertakings set up stalls to introduce various central development and social security schemes to the people at the event. Elappully panchayat Vice President Sunilkumar, Ward Member Santhosh, and Day Nodal Officer and Canara Bank Chittur Manager Reshma also spoke.

In the afternoon, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra event organized at Puthunagaram in Kollengode block was inaugurated by Grama Panchayat Member Santhosh Kumar.

Beneficiaries of various Prime Minister's flagship schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM PRANAM, Ujjwala Yojana, Jan Oushadhi, Khelo India, and Farmer Producer Company explained their experiences.

In connection with the journey, Jan Suraksha Camp and Ujjwala Yojana Camp were also organized. The people were also introduced to the agricultural methods using drones organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

Day Nodal Officer and Canara Bank Kollengode Branch Manager Mubasheena organized a quiz with details of the flagship schemes, which was a different experience.

The yatra was led by Sreenath R P, District Nodal Officer & Lead District Manager Palakkad. Tomorrow the Yatra will be at Thenkurissi and Kottayi Gramapanchayats.
