Ministry of Culture conducted Cleanliness Drive at 404 sites out of 449 sites across the Country

National Council of Science Museum (NCSM)  has created a sculpture of a Mosquito using waste items

During the third week of the Implementation Phase of Special Campaign 3.0, Considerable progress has been achieved by Ministry of Culture (MoC). The cumulative achievements of the Ministry during this period are given below:-

Further, Cleanliness Drive has also been conducted at 404 sites out of 449 sites across the country. Ministry has freed aprox.1050 Sq. Ft. area by disposing of scrap and generated revenue of Rs.3,57,999. Besides, 8072 Physical files and 114 E-files out of 15,969 Physical files and 2133 E-files, respectively, have been reviewed and closed.

Best Initiatives: As part of best initiatives some of the Organizations under MoC have undertaken the following initiatives: -

(A) . On the theme “Waste to Art”, National Council of Science Museum (NCSM)  has created a sculpture of a mosquito using waste items like discarded syringes and wires. NCSM has also crafted a giraffe sculpture from discarded cardboard presenting Waste to Art creations.

(B) North Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC) has also organized a 3 day workshop/Campaign on the theme ‘Waste to Art’ from 16th to 18th October, 2023 at NEZCC Shilpgram Complex, Guwahati. Sculptures of Goddess Maa Durga and a deer have been crafted by using discarded waste materials.

(C) Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is also carrying out cleanliness drive enthusiastically at 400 sites out of 449 sites identified by Ministry including Monuments & 25 World Heritage Sites. As part of the restorative conservation of records, National Archive of India (NAI) has repaired 21,425 number of sheets, 140 files and binding of 45 volumes of records in its collections. Besides, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Coal has intimated NAI for appraisal of 452 and 572 files, respectively. NAI has initiated action for joint appraisal of the above files as per provisions of Public Record Rules. A Special Training Session on Record Management is being organized in association of NAI for the Officers of the level of Section Officer and Under Secretary in the Ministry of Culture and Archaeological Survey of India on 23rd October, 2023 under Special Campaign 3.0. Daily progress is being monitored and uploaded on the SCDPM portal.
