Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed ‘Garib Kalyan Sammelan’ in Shima, Himachal Pradesh. This novel public programme marking the completion of eight years of the government led by the Prime Minister was organized across the country at State Capitals, District Headquarters, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras.

The Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Shri Kapil Moreshwar Patil joined the programme at Shimla, from Mumbai. Around 2,000 beneficiaries of various Government of India welfare schemes also joined from Mumbai.  Public representatives from the state of Maharashtra and senior officials of Central organizations like Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd, ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai, which are instrumental in implementing welfare schemes were also present. Speaking on the occasion, MoS Shri Patil said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working tirelessly to fulfil the dream of the people and through his work he has created the face of a new India with confidence in the minds of the people”.

MoS – Railways, Mines and Coal Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve connected to PM’s programme along with a number of beneficiaries from Jalna district via video conferencing.

MoS for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Ramdas Athawale along with beneficiaries joined the programme from Solapur. A number of beneficiaries had gathered at Bachat Bhavan Hall to hear the PM’s speech on the occasion.

Prime Minister also released the 11^th instalment of financial benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. This will enable the transfer of an amount of around Rs. 21,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families.  On this occasion, PM Modi also interacted with the beneficiaries of PM-KISAN across the country.
