Promotion of Electricity-based Cooking

The Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy has informed Electricity-based cooking (e-Cooking) is an emerging phenomenon in India.  Making the public aware about the benefits of e-Cooking devices has been the part of ‘Go-Electric’ campaign since 2021.  Recently, the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture Company of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under Ministry of Power, has launched National Efficient Cooking Programme (NECP) in November, 2023.  As of now, the Government has not carried out any survey / study to assess the penetration of electricity-based cooking in India.

This information has been given by the Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri R. K. Singh, in a written reply to a question, in Rajya Sabha on December 19, 2023.
