Madhya Pradesh–Karnataka Delegation of Yuva Sangam Phase VII Embarks on a Journey of Cultural Discovery and Youth Exchange
Delegation Interacts with Governor of Karnataka and Explores the State’s Rich Cultural Heritage

The Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, is organising Yuva Sangam Phase VII under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme to strengthen people-to-people connections and promote national integration among the youth.
The Madhya Pradesh–Karnataka delegation, with School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Bhopal as the nodal institute, was flagged off on 26 September 2026. The delegation is visiting Karnataka, hosted by the Central University of Karnataka, to experience the State’s rich heritage, traditions, cuisine, landscapes and cultural diversity.

A key highlight of the visit was the interaction of the Madhya Pradesh delegation with Governor of Karnataka Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot on 1 October 2026. The interaction provided the young delegates an opportunity to learn about Karnataka’s cultural heritage and the role of youth in strengthening national unity and people-to-people connections.


As part of their cultural and educational immersion, the delegates visited Bidar Fort and Indian Institute of Management Bengaluru (IIM Bengaluru).
On 30 September 2026, the delegation also interacted with Padma Shri Rasheed Ahmed Quadri, renowned for his contribution to the traditional art of Bidriware. The interaction offered the delegates an opportunity to understand the craft, its rich legacy and the importance of preserving India’s traditional knowledge and cultural heritage.


The delegates also visited Gurudwara Sri Nanak Jhira Sahib, where they experienced the spiritual and cultural traditions associated with the historic site. The visit provided an opportunity to appreciate the diverse religious and cultural heritage of the region.
Yuva Sangam is a flagship youth exchange initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme. It aims to promote mutual understanding and strengthen connections among youth from different States and Union Territories through experiential learning and cultural exchange.The initiative provides young participants an opportunity to experience the cultural traditions, educational institutions, innovation ecosystems and developmental initiatives of different States and Union Territories.

The programme is centred around five thematic pillars — Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect) and Prodyogiki (Technology). These pillars enable participants to explore the diverse cultural, social, educational, technological and developmental dimensions of different regions.
