BJRNF Works to Empower Scheduled Castes, Weaker Sections and Underprivileged Communities

The Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation (BJRNF), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, continues to advance the ideals and vision of former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram.
The Foundation works for the advancement of Scheduled Castes and weaker sections of society through developmental initiatives aimed at promoting social justice and eliminating discrimination. Its efforts are directed towards empowering Scheduled Castes and other underprivileged communities and enabling their equitable participation in society.
BJRNF also seeks to bring about a positive change in social attitudes by spreading awareness against untouchability and caste-based prejudice.
Through its initiatives, the Foundation carries forward Babu Jagjivan Ram’s enduring commitment to equality, dignity and justice for marginalized sections of society.
The Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, headquartered at 6, Krishna Menon Marg, in the National Capital here, was established by the Government of India and registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, on March 14, 2008.
The Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment serves as the President of the Foundation.
The principal aim of BJRNF is to propagate the ideals of Babu Jagjivan Ram in the field of social reform and promote his ideology, philosophy of life, mission and vision of building a casteless and classless society.

The Foundation’s work reflects the Government’s commitment to creating an inclusive social order founded on equal opportunity, empowerment and respect for every citizen.
