RECRUITMENT OF TEACHERS AND STAFF IN EMRSs

Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey informed today in Lok Sabha that the Ministry of Tribal Affairs has not received any representations to reverse the centralized recruitment process for teachers and staff in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs).
The Government has sanctioned 31 teaching posts and 21 non-teaching posts per EMRS for EMRSs with classes up to 12th having a full strength of 480 students to be recruited in phased manner. 13 of the 21 non-teaching posts sanctioned for each school have been earmarked for engagement through outsourcing, with the objective of promoting local employment and community participation.
Centralized recruitment mechanism through the EMRS Staff Selection Examination (ESSE) has been instituted to ensure the appointment of qualified and competent teaching and non-teaching personnel across EMRSs. 9111 teaching & non -teaching staff have already been recruited and examination has been conducted for another batch of 7267 teaching & non -teaching staff for EMRSs across the country.
Staff who have joined in EMRSs are provided with training in different areas including importance of Tribal culture, ways to improve the standard of the tribal students and learning regional languages.
To familiarise with the Tribal culture, language and local requirement arrangement is made to have sessions on local languages through State educational Societies and also through regional language teachers who are posted in EMRSs. As per the terms and conditions of offer of appointment, candidates are also required to qualify the regional language competency requirement of the State in which posting is done during the probation period.
