The Government is committed to achieve saturation of telecom connectivity in underserved tribal areas. Under Pm-JANMAN, telecom connectivity is being implemented by the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) through the 4G saturation scheme, with the objective of providing mobile connectivity to uncovered villages/habitations, including those inhabited by PVTGs.PM-JANMAN envisages saturation of basic facilities, including telecom connectivity, within the mission period of three years.

The Progress of implementation is monitored by the Department of Telecommunications/Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) in coordination with the concerned telecom service Providers (TSPs), sate Governments and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Progress is reviewed through periodic monitoring, MIS/reporting mechanism and the PM Gati Shakti/PM-JANMAN dashboards, and field level gaps are taken up with the concerned implementing agencies for timely resolution. DoT also monitors rural coverage and inclusion of uncovered villages in the 4G saturation projects.
