BHARAT TAXI ROLL OUT

Bharat Taxi, a cooperative-led digital App mobility platform operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL), a multistate cooperative society is officially launched in the cities of Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
The implementation of Bharat Taxi Services is being carried out in a phased manner across the country. The implementation includes registration and onboarding of Sarathis (drivers), customer enrolment, training programmes and expansion of services to identified cities and States. As on 04.08.2026, the platform has registered 8.48 lakh Sarathis (drivers) and 44.27 lakh customers. The platform is facilitating 11,106 daily rides and has enabled cumulative earnings of ₹83.70 crore for Sarathis.
The rollout of services of Bharat Taxi, operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL), in other cities and States is subject to operational requirements and necessary approvals. Expansion is undertaken based on factors such as operational preparedness, availability of Sarathis, completion of statutory requirements, and coordination with the concerned State Governments, cooperative institutions, and other stakeholders.

Bharat Taxi and Yatri Sathi are separate mobility platforms operating under different institutional frameworks. Bharat Taxi is a cooperative-based mobility platform operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL) under the provisions of the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002, whereas Yatri Sathi is a mobility platform developed and operated by the Department of Information Technology and Electronics (DITE), Government of West Bengal.
On 19th July, 2026, STCL entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of West Bengal for collaboration with the Yatri Sathi platform. Under the MoU, Bharat Taxi extends support in the areas of driver enrolment, cooperative membership, driver welfare and public outreach.
