The Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Durgadas Uikey today informed Lok Sabha that hon'ble PM launched Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan on 2nd October, 2024. The Abhiyan comprises of 25 interventions implemented by 17-line Ministries and aims to saturate infrastructural gaps in 63,843 villages, improve access to health, education, Anganwadi facilities and providing livelihood opportunities benefiting more than 5 crore tribals in 549 districts and 2,911 blocks in 30 States/UTs.

The infrastructural gaps identified under the DhartiAabaJanjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) are assessed through data-driven gap analysis and Mission Antyodaya data. The foundational assessment relies on data from Mission Antyodaya (2022–23), analyzed alongside Census 2011 to identify deficiencies in key infrastructure sectors such as housing, connectivity, drinking water, and education. As per scheme guidelines, State Governments submit prioritized proposals to the concerned Ministry for development work in identified areas. As per identified gaps, Dhubri District, Assam is not included in the list of DAJGUA Districts.
