DoSJE to Mark World Day of Social Justice with Preamble Reading at National Law University, Dwarka, New Delhi

Reaffirming its commitment to the Constitutional vision of Justice, Equality and Dignity for all, the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment (DoSJE), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, in collaboration with National Law University (NLU), Dwarka, New Delhi, will organise a special programme on 20th February 2026 to observe the World Day of Social Justice.
A central highlight of the event will be the Reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India, to be led by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri B. L. Verma. The collective reading will reaffirm the nation’s commitment to the ideals of Justice — Social, Economic and Political — along with Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, as enshrined in the Constitution.
World Day of Social Justice, observed annually on 20th February, underscores the global resolve to promote social inclusion, reduce inequalities and ensure equitable access to opportunities, particularly for marginalised and disadvantaged sections of society. The programme will be attended by Senior Officers of the Department, officials of National Law Services Authority (NALSA), University Faculty Members and students, reflecting a shared commitment to uphold Constitutional values.
Through this observance, the Department seeks to strengthen awareness among youth and stakeholders regarding the Government’s sustained efforts towards Social Empowerment, Equality and Dignity for all.
