Bharat Parv–2026 continues to serve as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, as a visitor from France experienced the rich traditions and flavours of Jharkhand for the very first time and expressed deep appreciation for the state’s heritage, showcased under the aegis of Jharkhand Tourism.

During the visit, the French guest interacted with students of the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Ranchi, who presented authentic Jharkhandi delicacies as part of the culinary showcase. The visitor particularly relished traditional dishes such as Dhuska and Aalo Chana, skillfully prepared by IHM Ranchi students under the expert guidance of Chef Hare Krishna Chaudhary. The guest praised the taste, simplicity, and uniqueness of the cuisine, noting its strong connection with local culture and sustainable food practices.

Chef Hare Krishna Chaudhary briefed the visitor on the nutritional value, cultural depth, and heritage of Jharkhandi cuisine, explaining how indigenous ingredients and traditional cooking methods reflect the identity and lifestyle of the region. He also highlighted the proactive role of the Ministry of Tourism, in promoting the diverse cuisines and cultures of different states through platforms like Bharat Parv, thereby strengthening India’s cultural diplomacy and tourism outreach.

Acknowledging the institutional contribution, Chef Chaudhary lauded the visionary leadership of Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, Principal, IHM Ranchi, for his remarkable efforts in promoting millets as a sustainable and nutritious food choice. Under Dr. Kumar’s guidance, IHM Ranchi has achieved national recognition, including an entry in the India Book of Records for its initiatives in millet promotion, aligning with the national mission on millets.

The visit underscored how culinary heritage serves as a powerful medium to connect cultures globally. Appreciation from an international visitor reaffirmed the importance of showcasing regional Indian cuisines and traditions on national platforms such as Bharat Parv, while also recognizing the academic and cultural contributions of institutions like IHM Ranchi in preserving and promoting India’s rich gastronomic legacy.

Bharat Parv–2026, the six-day national cultural and tourism festival, is being held from 26 to 31 January 2026 at the Red Fort Lawns and Gyan Path, as part of the Republic Day celebrations.
