Department of Fisheries (erstwhile Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries) conveyed administrative approval of Government of India on 13.08.2018 to the proposal of Government of Karnataka for the project ‘Development of existing fish landing centre at Hejamadi Kodi in Udupi district of Karnataka’ at a total cost of ₹ 138.60 crore with financial assistance of ₹ 34.65 crore under Sagarmala Scheme. Department of Fisheries, Government of Karnataka being the implementing agency of the project has informed the current physical progress of 87% with March, 2026 as target of completion.

This information was given by the Union Minister for Port Shipping and waterways in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
