Department of Food and Public Distribution, GoI, strives to achieve its targets under the Special Campaign 5.0

The Special Campaign 5.0 has completed its first fortnight of implementation and during these two weeks, in the Department and its PSUs/Subordinate offices a total of 154498 physical files were reviewed out of which 70215 files were weeded out. After review of 4125 e files, 742 e files were closed. Cleanliness campaign was conducted on 629 sites. A total of 25876 sq. ft of space was freed and revenue of Rs.28,15,248 was generated. Further 10 MP references were also disposed of during the same period.

During this period the Joint Secretary (Admn.) and the Nodal Officer took review meeting with the nodal officers of the various PSUs / attached and subordinate offices of the Department and directed them to ensure recording and weeding out of files as per the Record Retention Schedule and pay  special  attention to  timely disposal of Public Grievances & Appeals. He also emphasized the need to also  keep the common areas, lifts, canteen etc neat and clean.

The Department of Food and Public Distribution along with its PSUs/attached and subordinate offices is making all out efforts to achieve its set targets and make visible impact in all the identified areas.
