Ek Din Ek Ghanta Ek Saath: Department of Food and Public Distribution, GoI, observes Nationwide Shramdaan

The Department of Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, and its various PSUs/ attached/ subordinate officers achieved another milestone with cleanliness activities undertaken by them   on Ek Din Ek Ghanta Ek Saath event on 25th September, 2025 at 8 a.m.  throughout the length and breadth of the country.

The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) conducted a cleanliness drive in the outer premises of Hanuman Mandir, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi, as part of the “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath: Nationwide  Shramdaan under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign. The officers and officials of the department enthusiastically participated en masse in this drive.  The objective of the campaign was to ensure cleanliness, improve sanitation and create awareness about hygiene and proper waste disposal among the general public. With their one-hour collective sharamdaan the employees of the Department endeavoured to ensure a clean, healthy and garbage free India.

Besides this a number of activities were undertaken by the various PSUs/sub ordinate offices of the Department.

Indian Grain Management and Research Institute (IGMRI), Hapur, organized a cleanliness drive at the Hapur Bus Depot whereas IGMRI, Ludhiana conducted this drive at ISBT, Ludhiana.

The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) team demonstrated its unwavering commitment to community welfare by actively participating in the national cleanliness drive – “Ek Din, Ek Saath, Ek Ghanta – Shramdaan at the RWA Park, Mayur Vihar, where a highly motivated team came together with energy, enthusiasm, and true team spirit to devote one hour towards cleaning and beautifying the public space. This impactful effort reflects their shared vision of a cleaner, healthier, and more responsible India. Through collective action and civic pride, they continue to support the mission of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Another PSU of the Department, Food Corporation of India (FCI) conducted special cleanliness drive across its Headquarters, regional and district offices in India. The campaign aimed to foster collective contribution to a cleaner India under the Swacchta Hi Seva movement. Led by the senior officials, the staff activity and enthusiastically participated in the campaign at various Regional and District level offices.
