The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, is set to actively participate in the Special Campaign 5.0 being organized from 2nd to 31st October, 2025 under the stewardship of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG). With Special Campaign 5.0, the Department is determined to scale new benchmarks. DEPwD and all its organizations are working with renewed zeal, accountability, and transparency to deliver results that reflect the Government’s vision of a citizen-centric and responsive governance framework.

During the Preparatory Phase of the Campaign, pendency and targets will be identified by the Nodal officers nominated at every level. In the second Phase of Implementation action on ground will be carried out in mission mode. DEPwD has already nominated its Nodal Officer and instructed all attached offices, autonomous bodies, and PSUs under its jurisdiction to ensure identification and focused disposal of pending matters in a time-bound manner and to align their action plans with the Campaign’s objectives.

Department’s special thrust will be on cleanliness and digitization drives in all the organizations under the aegis of the Department including CPSEs, Attached Offices, National Institutes and Composite Regional Centres (CRCs). These institutions, which directly serve Persons with Disabilities, will be made more efficient, organized, and welcoming for beneficiaries.

DEPwD has consistently demonstrated its commitment in this arena. During Special Campaign 4.0 (October 2024), the Department and its organizations achieved tangible outcomes, including:

• Digitization/Weeding out of 11,967 files/documents
• Freeing up approx. 14,780 sq. ft. of space
• Revenue generation of ₹13,28,746 from disposal of scrap
• 62 cleanliness drives conducted nationwide

 

In addition, DEPwD has been pursuing continuous cleanliness and pendency clearance drives every month since November 2024, ensuring that progress is not confined to the campaign period alone but sustained throughout the year.
