Parliament Question: - Rise In Coastal Shipping Traffic

Coastal shipping traffic has experienced a growth of approx. 11% in the last three years. The details of the coastal shipping traffic for both major and non-major ports in the last three years are as under:

The Government has constructed exclusive coastal berths at VOCPA (2017), ChPA (2019), JNPA (2021) and MbPA (2024-25). Mechanization of coastal berths has been undertaken at Paradip and Haldia ports.
As per Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, Government plans to increase the coastal cargo volumes transported in the country to 1300 MTPA.
