Department of Expenditure (DoE), Ministry of Finance, actively participated in Special Campaign 4.0 for institutionalising swachhata and minimising pendency from 2nd October to 31st October, 2024

DoE disposes off 207 Public Grievances; submits 31 Inter-Ministerial References; answers 10 references from Members of Parliament; review 3,465 files and achieves 100% target in Public Grievance Appeals; generates Rs. 5,67,546/- revenue through disposal of the redundant scrap material and obsolete items

The Department of Expenditure (DoE), Ministry of Finance, along with its Attached/ Subordinate Offices/ Autonomous Bodies - Controller General of Accounts, Chief Adviser Cost, Central Pension Accounting Office, Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management actively participated in the Special Campaign 4.0 for institutionalising swachhata and minimising pendency from 2nd October to 31st October, 2024.

The objective of the Special Campaign 4.0 is to identify and timely disposal of pending matters/references; to review existing rules and procedures to reduce compliance burden; record management; cleanliness of government offices including space management, improve overall cleanliness of Government offices and enhance public experience of common public with Government Offices.

In the Preparatory Phase from 16th to 30th September, 2024, DoE set targets/activities under various categories viz. Public Grievances, Public Grievances Appeals, MP References, State Government References, Inter Ministerial Reference, PMO References, simplification of rules/ procedures, record management, etc. for implementation/disposal during the Implementation Phase from 2nd to 31st October, 2024.

The campaign under DoE ensured the following achievements during the implementation phase of Special Campaign from 2nd October to 31st October, 2024:-

  • Out of 207 Public Grievances, all 207 Public Grievances disposed off
  • Comments on 25 out of 31 Inter-Ministerial References (Cabinet Note) given
  • Out of 12 references received from Members of Parliament, 10 have been answered,
  • Out of 4,401 physical files and e-files identified for reviewing, 3,465 files reviewed and 100% target achieved in Public Grievance Appeals.
  • Revenue of Rs. 5,67,546/- generated through disposal of the redundant scrap material and obsolete items.

Besides, these, the senior officials of the DoE inspected the offices and building premises in North Block to monitor the preparations/ progress of the Campaign and emphasised on maintaining highest standards of cleanliness.

The Swachhata initiatives undertaken by the DoE during the Campaign resulted into remarkable cleaning of office premises and adjoining areas as well as management of space. The Department’s efforts towards cleanliness may be seen here under: -

The Safai Mitra Surakasha Shivir was inaugurated by Dr. Manoj Govil, Secretary Department of Expenditure, on 17th September, 2024 at North Block, New Delhi for Safai Mitra.

A team of lab technicians collected their blood samples for the purpose of conducting basic medicals tests such as LFT, KFT, Blood Sugar (HbA1c + BSF) and HMG. A total of 102 Safai Mitra participated in the Camp: -

 

More than 100 Safai Mitra underwent medical blood tests on 17th September, 2024, and were examined in the Shivir by two general physicians from Rural Health Training Centre, Najafgarh and an Ophthalmologist from Sharp Sight Eye Centre, New Delhi. The medicines prescribed by the Doctors were also provided to the Safai Mitra. The Shivir concluded felicitation of the doctors and their support staffs.

 

Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Finance Secretary & Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), in presence of Secretaries of Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), DoE, and Chairpersons of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), and administered Swachhata Pledge to officials/staff of the DEA, D/o Revenue, and DoE, on 25th September, 2024, to encourage towards cleanliness, environment protection and sustainable development. In addition to above activities, the DEA and DoE had organised Swachhata Shramdaan drive on 3rd October, 2024 in the premises of North Block, under the Special Campaign 4.0. The Secretaries of DEA and DoE led the cleanliness drive and other senior officers as well as staff of DEA, DoR and DoE actively participated in the mega cleanliness drive to spread awareness about cleanliness and environmental friendliness. The DoE also amplified the efforts by sharing updates through social media platforms.

As the Campaign concluded, the DoE remains dedicated to maintain these improvements and foster a cleaner, more efficient work environment.
