The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) celebrated its 19^th Foundation Day today (12^th March, 2024) at Jacaranda Hall, Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi. To mark this occasion, the Commission invited children from different parts of the country to acknowledge their efforts and participation in Commission's Pariksha Parv campaign.  Chairpersons and Members from all the States Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCRs) were also invited to

Chairperson, NCPCR, Shri Priyank Kanoongo, Smt. Preeti Bharadwaj Dalal, Member NCPCR, Dr. Divya Gupta, Member NCPCR, Smt. Rupali Banerjee Singh, Member Secretary NCPCR were present on the occasion.

Shri Priyank Kanoongo, Chairperson, NCPCR, welcomed all the dignitaries and children. He briefed about the initiatives taken up by the Commission and acknowledged the efforts and cooperation of the State Commissions of Protection of Child Rights. Shri  Kanoongo said that the children, the major stakeholders of the Commission, are the future of the nation and that only by solving the present day problems in a way that they don’t have to talk about these problems anymore is the way forward to further development of the country. He further added that 172 benches and camps have been organized by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights throughout the country and in the remotest areas for addressing the problems related to children in a better manner. Through social audits of Child Care Institutions around 1,45,000 children have been repatriated.

Chairperson NCPCR shared that one of the activities planned under Pariksha Parv 6.0 is to encourage small video messages from children to express their experiences, patterns, go-to routines etc. about dealing with exam stress/anxiety. The selected clips/messages are being showcased on the social media platforms of the Commission after parental consent. The Commission has received more than 6500 videos from the children across India. Children and their parents attended the function and received the certificates of appreciation for the enthusiastic participation in Pariksha Parv 6.0.

On the NCPCR’s foundation day programme, the various State Commissions shared their good practices and experiences. Some of the SCPCRs highlighted the new initiatives that they have taken in their States.
