Corps of signals celebrates its 114th Raising Day

The Corps of Signals of the Indian Army celebrated its 114th Raising Day on 15 February 2024. Signal units in the Southern Command celebrated the occasion with all ranks and their families wherein Ex-Servicemen were also invited.
Since its inception on 15 February 1911, Corps of Signals has transformed the communications of Indian Army and kept pace with the digital revolution of 21st Century. Last three decades have seen major advances in computing, IT and communication technologies and same are being effectively harnessed by the Corps of Signals for smooth and successful conduct of operations in the digitalised battlespace. Today, the Corps is well poised to exploit the state-of-the art modern communication techniques for meeting the challenging requirements of the Indian Army to operate in multi-dimensional threat environment across the entire spectrum of conflict.
The Corps shoulders the onerous responsibility of providing the Indian Army with peace time static communications as well as combat communications during operations. In order to meet the communication challenges of the Indian Army, the Corps of Signals has established a nation-wide army owned network to provide reliable and responsive real time communications, reaffirming their motto “Teevra Chaukas” meaning “Swift and Sure”.
Lieutenant General Ajai Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command conveyed his best wishes to the serving and retired personnel of the Corps of Signals and lauded them for their selfless contribution towards Nation building.
