It is also mentioned that in the year 2020-21, the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, which has been entrusted with the task of monitoring of Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan (SCSP)/Development Action Plan for Scheduled Castes (DAPSC) based on the overall framework designed by NITI Aayog since the year 2017, proposed that the unspent funds up to Rs. 950 Cr. by few Ministries/ Departments in the year 2020-21, could be reallocated to the nodal Ministry as a Pilot Project and accordingly requested Department of Expenditure (DoE) to give their “in Principal Approval” to the Pilot Project for Rs. 950 Cr. for the welfare of SCs. DoE gave their “in Principal Approval” to the same. DoE later agreed to allocate the unspent amount of Rs. 950 Cr. to the nodal Ministry, i.e., M/o Social Justice & Empowerment as an additionality in the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojna (PM-AJAY).

This information was given by the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Ramdas Athawale in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
