Nagaland Governor La Ganesan today flagged off the IEC Van of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra for Rural campaign for Kohima district at the Raj Bhavan this morning. The campaign is gaining momentum in the state with events being conducted at Kohima, Chumoukedima, Mokokchung and Tuensang district today.

One more outreach van which will be used in campaigns in urban locations is already stationed in Dimapur. A total of 16 IEC vans will cover the different districts of the state in phases as Tribal, Rural and Urban campaigns.

During the flag off of the VBSY IEC van at the Raj Bhawan, Governor La Ganesan said the campaign will benefit the people by enhancing awareness about government schemes. He expressed happiness to the organisers for running the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra program which is aimed at reaching out to the citizens and creating awareness about the benefits and application procedures of various welfare schemes taken up under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

 Kohima DC Kumar Ramnikant, who also attended the programme said VBSY campaign which was launched by PM Narendra Modi, will also be organized in D Khel, Seikhazou, Kohima village in the afternoon to promote and educate the people about the central schemes and other development success stories. Secretary to the Governor Rajesh Soundararajan and others officials also attended the program. 

 In Chumoukedima district, the rural VBSY campaign was conducted at Amaluma under Dhansiripar block while in Mokokchung, the event was organized at Sungratsu village under Ongpangkong block. In Tuensang district, the events were conducted at Longra and Longching villages, yangping village under Noksen block.

Various activities including taking of the Sankalp pledge, felicitation of beneficiaries of government welfare schemes, sharing of success stories, health camps, on the spot registration for Ujjwala scheme and banking services, drone demonstration and display of government schemes in LED screens installed on IEC vans were the highlights of the events.
